National Championships for the Big 10 will be few and far in between. They would literally only have 2 teams who could be considered legitimate national contenders on a regular basis - Ohio State and Southern Cal. Michigan would be a fringe/possible candidate as would Penn State, Wisconsin and possibly Oregon.
The SEC already has enough historical national contenders - Bama, Georgia, LSU. Their fringe is a lot bigger as well with Auburn, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida as Natty winners. The SEC doesn't need any more help. It's already a stacked league.
After last night, If I'm Fox/Big 10 I'm figuring out how to get Clemson/FSU out of the ACC and into the Big 10. They need more teams in the league capable of winning it all. They really don't have that deep of a bench. They need teams like FSU/Clemson to be seen as equal to the SEC.
Right now, they are well behind the SEC and if Clemson/FSU go to the SEC they are going to be WAAAYY behind.
