Agree. Being on the right, I'm not big on regulation and government subsidies, but I think that has to be the answer here. We have to regulate the junk out of our food supply. And we probably need to subsidize food production to at least absorb switching costs and minimize consumer cost impact. We will earn that money back in spades if we can improve health in the country and lower costs in Medicare, Medicaid, etc.

American made is great, but we also need to focus on shifting sourcing from China to other low-cost, non-adversarial countries.

Absolutely. I completely agree on all of this.

I've told my personal health story on here a few times, but 10 years ago the Doctor wanted to put me on medication for diabetes. I didn't accept that, and went on a journey to change my health. I was able to do it and avoid medication. When you consider the cost of 10 years of medication, plus the side effects and other health issues that would have followed it's a massive financial Impact.

We have a really hard time in the US with up front costs vs long term costs. We love to kick the can down the road, but we have got to address this asap.

Agreed. It's like the push to "buy American". That sounds great, but then you see an American Made hoodie from American Giant costs $100, and a foreign made hoodie costs $15. Sure the American Giant is a lot better, but I can get 8 cheap ones for the same cost.

Another example is Harbor Freight, they literally sell many items that are stolen Ip from companies such as Honda(generators) and made in China. But walk into a Harbor Freight and you will see a ton of MAGA hats... Way to make America Great by buying Chinese.

It's all just lip service unless you put your money where your mouth is.
