--The Fortnite dance celebrations were their idea on Friday at dinner. He wanted to do something funny instead of just hold his finger up, and he used to be a big Fortnite player—though he doesn’t have as much time for it these days.

--The game was really fun. Everyone played hard, had fun, and brought a lot of passion. He just enjoyed being out there playing the game he loves.
--He’s getting used to the speed of college football. Compared to the App State game, he’s noticing more details that help him during games.
--College offenses are a lot tougher than high school ones. It’s all about getting his eyes in the right spot and not getting distracted by motions and shifts.
--Knowing the playbook and executing it are two different things. He tries to see what the offense will do before the snap, which comes from film study.
--Sammy’s a biology major and wants to be a pediatrician one day. His mom, a pharmacist, told him he’s good with kids, and he’s always been interested in medicine. He even thought about becoming a brain surgeon at one point.
--He’s really proud of his class, especially the early enrollees who put in work with film and in the weight room. He called it a purpose-driven and very talented group.
--College has been everything he hoped for. He loves Clemson. The speed of the college game was a bigger jump than he expected, especially the difference between practice and game speed.
--His dad was a coach, so coming here has felt familiar. He thinks his dad picked up some lingo from Dabo and Coach Goodwin.
--Dabo challenged the team all week, especially last week, and it built a mindset to improve. That showed up in Saturday’s game.
--When they’re locked in, they can be a really strong defense. They have talent everywhere, and if they bring intensity and pair it with good film study, they can be really, really good.
--He knows he’s got work to do when it comes to being a leader. He’s not Barrett Carter yet, but he feels like he has to step into a leadership role as linebacker being the “QB of the defense.”
--Barrett and Wade have shown him how to study film—really digging into offensive tendencies and keys.
--When Kobe McCloud went down, Sammy knew his role had to step up, but he didn’t change his week-to-week prep. He’s always ready to go when his number is called.
