Board help

Not sure if anyone knows any tips or tricks but rivals support is no help.

Like many I "follow" Chris, Larry, Paul and a select few others (such as Valley Challenger and other known credible insiders, and a few select personal friends) so that I can quickly see content in the 'news feed'...well one follow I'd like to unfollow as their activity has gotten so frequent they totally fill up my newsfeed.

Problem is - after I initially followed them they set their profile to private and when I click unfollow it says 'this member restricts others from viewing their profile. Contacting yahoo customer (dis)service they provided instructions on unfollowing, which I had tried and failed due to the aforementioned restriction. I explained this and they said "if a user restricts viewing you cant follow that user"...but I already "follow" them - I want to unfollow them

Any ideas?

Wow. Last game start at 8pm.

What if Dabo does follow Saban and UVA’s Tony Bennett

And decides he’s had enough after this season and with the new era of CFB. Who do we want that’s a good mix of Dabo’s character & integrity - but will also play the game with all the new rules?

I love Dabo and appreciate so much what he’s done for Clemson and what he stands for, but I feel like we’re going down hill fast. I’m not saying at all that I want him to call it quits, but I also don’t feel like we’re on a successful path anymore.

How embarrassing

This is a total shit show. Offense sucks. Defense sucks. We were lulled into a false sense of semi optimism by playing a pathetic schedule.

Our NIL is a shit show.

Our approach to the portal is a shit show.

Dabo’s continued insistence on hiring completely green and unqualified coaches is a shit show (hi Wes).

Being stuck in a C tier conference is a shit show.

It’s very hard to invest heavily in Clemson football right now. What are the signals that we’re trending up? What are we doing to fix the critical failures in the program? How are we fixing the core funding elements needed to succeed in today’s environment?

It’s big time broken. Hope the powers at be do something to fix it.

Paul Finebaum Today

ESPN personality Paul Finebaum joined The Matt Barrie Show on Sunday morning to give his reaction to all the Week 1 college football action.

To no surprise, Finebaum didn’t hold back on how he feels about Dabo Swinney and the Clemson football program when discussing the 14th-ranked Tigers’ 34-3 loss to No. 1 Georgia on Saturday in Atlanta.

“Most smart people, Matt, knew that the noon game would not be very close,” Finebaum said.

“I sat on the set Saturday morning saying what I’m saying now about Clemson, and a former Heisman Trophy winner, a guy that understands football better than the two of us combined, told me that Clemson is a great program and this game will be very tight. And I just sat there at that moment, usually kept my mouth shut, because I knew it wasn’t a good idea. I knew what was going to happen, and so did you, Matt.”

Finebaum thinks Saturday’s game between the Bulldogs and Tigers shows that the elite status of Swinney and his program is over.

“It’s as much about how well Kirby Smart has control of that program as it is to say that Dabo Swinney’s time as an elite coach is over,” Finebaum said.

“Clemson is a good program, they’ll compete in the ACC, but their days as a program that matters, their days as a program that is spoken with reverence, are gone. Everyone knows what they’ve done, but they’re not doing it this year, and I don’t see them ever doing it again as long as Dabo Swinney is there.”

Finebaum went on to say that Swinney should “start planning an exit strategy.”

“And I don’t mean that the program is isn’t capable. But his approach to college football doesn’t work any longer. He’s been slow to move for everything. He now has that reputation as ‘grumpy Dabo,’ and I frankly think Dabo Swinney would be smart to start planning an exit strategy,” Finebaum said.

“I’m not saying they’re getting rid of him. They’re not. They’re stuck with him. He’s part of who they are. But he would be better to look elsewhere, to find another way to do it, because it’s simply not going to matter. He may find ways into the playoff in the future, but he’s not going to find a way to hold up the trophy any longer, not the way he’s running that program.”

Clemson trailed only 6-0 after two quarters on Saturday before being outscored 28-3 over the final two frames, and Finebaum wonders what the game would’ve looked like, had Georgia been firing on all cylinders before halftime.

“I don’t know how many times on Sunday morning we’ve had this conversation about Dabo, and I feel like I’m beating a dead horse because he is a good football coach,” Finebaum said.

“But it’s over, Dabo. This is not going to change. And by the way, you didn’t even get an A effort from Georgia. It was methodical, but that was a pretty sloppy first half by Georgia. What happens if they start clicking in the first quarter?

Didn’t think I would ever say this, but

This program is cooked under Dabo I don’t know if there is a way to fix it also. Recruiting is getting significantly worse as it goes on. Obviously NIL is and will continue to be an issue. I would be stunned if we retained almost all our starters which pretty any our hope is in. I think neff needs to sit down with Dabo and have a real conversation.

********A really cool parking idea for The Citadel and South Carolina games

Some of y'all might recall that we've had a relationship with the folks at The Abernathy Hotel and have promoted some of their fine offerings over the years.

They asked me to share a pretty sweet option for some of you folks who don't already have parking spots for home games:

First-class valet service.

Basically you just have to show up. They will park and store your car. And you can enjoy a VIP Hospitality Suite that's loaded with food and drinks, hanging out in this cozy spot before and after the game.

You also get access to their private lounge and bar, food trucks, clean bathrooms, live music, vendors, VIP gift bags, and even golf-cart rides to the stadium.

They've seen a great response for games thus far and currently have some spots available for The Citadel and South Carolina games.

For those of you that don't know, The Abernathy is just a few hundred yards from the stadium (at the intersection of Williamson Rd. and Hwy. 93 in front of Lots 1 and 2).

Here's a link to learn more.

Thankful

As I reflect on last night and the last couple of years. I am thankful for what was and not what currently has happened. Clemson was a premier program in college football. Clemson was able to recruit the best talent in the nation, win and graduate that talent. Clemson was feared, respected and admired.

Dabo did it his way while never looking back. I got to see us win multiple championships, sign top 5 recruiting classes, and be the best team in college football.

Unfortunately it is over now. Winning is hard, winning was fun, winning is a memory. I am sad but I am thankful.
