i obviously do not agree with Kyrsten Sinema on all issues, but geez I like her a lot. She is doing what she thinks is right and is not afraid to stand up to the dem leadership and that is a very rare trait. Shes not hard to look at either.

Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) on Wednesday threw a wrench in Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation plan.
A group of bipartisan senators on Wednesday reached an agreement on the $1.2 trillion hard infrastructure bill after Republicans stalled the measure last week.
There is an additional $3.5 trillion budget resolution on top of this infrastructure measure that the senate is trying to pass before the August recess.
However, it appears Sinema just nuked the Democrats’ plans because all 50 Dem senators (and Kamala Harris) would need to vote in favor of budget reconciliation in order for it to pass.

“I have also made clear that while I will support beginning this process, I do not support a bill that costs $3.5 trillion — and in the coming months, I will work in good faith to develop this legislation with my colleagues and the administration to strengthen Arizona’s economy and help Arizona’s everyday families get ahead,” Sinema told The Arizona Republic.
Inflation and rising consumer prices is quickly becoming the number one issue for Americans.
83% of Americans are worried about inflation and spiking consumer prices.
When asked about inflation and rising consumer prices during last week’s CNN town hall dumpster fire, Biden said the multi-trillion dollar spending bills “will reduce inflation, reduce inflation, reduce inflation.”
According to a new ABC News liberal leaning poll, 55% of Americans are now pessimistic about the direction of the country – a 20 point drop in optimism since May.

she will approve it when she gets hers for the good people of Arizona. something to admire for sure.

Her and Manchin are the only things between us and exploding government expansion and court packing. If they hold strong, they may be considered American heroes.

Very good news if true. I will support targeted infrastructure if they can get it.

“I Won’t Support Spending Another $3.5 Trillion Bill” – Manchin Throws Cold Water on Biden’s Top Legislative Priorities

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), the most powerful man in the 50-50 senate, said he will not support the Democrats’ $3.5 trillion bill.
Manchin took a blowtorch to Joe Biden’s top legislative ambitions on Thursday when he came out against a $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.
Biden has been begging lawmakers to push through a gargantuan $3.5 trillion bill which would include money for Socialist “green” projects and raise taxes on middle class Americans (in addition to the inflationary tax).
The senate is split 50-50, so without Manchin’s support, the bill is pretty much D.O.A.

“I, for one, won’t support a $3.5 trillion bill, or anywhere near that level of additional spending, without greater clarity about why Congress chooses to ignore the serious effects inflation and debt have on existing government programs,” Manchin wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed.
Manchin repeatedly said he has concerns about debt and inflation.
The West Virginia Senator blasted his colleagues for their “strange belief there is an infinite supply of money to deal with any current or future crisis, and that spending trillions upon trillions will have no negative consequence for the future.”
“An overheating economy has imposed a costly “inflation tax” on every middle- and working-class American. At $28.7 trillion and growing, the nation’s debt has reached record levels. Over the past 18 months, we’ve spent more than $5 trillion responding to the coronavirus pandemic. Now Democratic congressional leaders propose to pass the largest single spending bill in history with no regard to rising inflation, crippling debt or the inevitability of future crises. Ignoring the fiscal consequences of our policy choices will create a disastrous future for the next generation of Americans,” he added.
“A pause is warranted because it will provide more clarity on the trajectory of the pandemic, and it will allow us to determine whether inflation is transitory or not,” he wrote.
Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema (AZ) also came out and said she will not support the $3.5 trillion budget bill.
