A win is a win is a win. That's about as harsh as I could be on the 1-0 victory over BC on Friday. It was a much needed win and was good to see us play through a ref that forgot his whistle <will prepare us for ND/Duke games>.
Honestly, getting a win in that spot is big. A place that we've rarely generated much of anything, a win is big and what we had to do.
And I'll tell ya, @yoshi121374 has been the most productive player we have. Three goals and so active on the ball. His finish on Friday was a thing of beauty.
So, up next is Holy Cross (2-3-1), that we should handle mightily. They have losses this season to Sacred Heart, Massachusetts-Lowell and something called Stonehill. They have wins over Merrimack and Leigh, with a draw against Harvard.
Evan Jones is the player to keep an eye on. Has three of their nine goals. But it really shouldn't matter.
A game that we need to get our wrinkles out. Our next ACC games are Wake,ND, UNC, and Louisville. So, time for the motor to get running.
Let's highlight Lancaster, SC Tyler Trimnal today. If you're unaware of how well Clemson recruits, we take the best player in SC and/or GA and then fill everything else with national players of the year and international players. Long story short, we get a lot of what we want from around the country.
So, Trimnal, an Andrew Jackson High School kid, is another one that has bided his time, but contributes when called upon.
Half of his 12 points came in the last 8 games, all in the postseason. He scored two against Duke in the ACC quarterfinal that we won in PKs and one against Stanford in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Big kid and a good finisher in the box; his effort is not usually matched.
We should be able to hang a crooked number on Holy Cross tomorrow. And hopefully we will have found ourselves for this ACC stretch coming up.
