3 Covid Cases on football team?

Supposedly EJ didn’t practice today according to another site. Also reported that an assistant coach has Covid

Omicron ain’t gonna be done at 3.
No it's not. Thankfully the vaccines do appear to be keeping symptoms to a minimum with this variant but nothing's stopping this particular one from spreading like wildfire. Vast majority of my family is fully vaccinated but we had a family gathering on the 20th and apparently there was someone there that was asymptomatic because it's run through most all of us now, vaccinated or not. If any team in America is equipped to handle it though it's us because we played the majority of the season at half strength so at least it won't be anything new.

Well if this causes them to have to test more players due to contact tracing that would probably be bad news for the bowl game Wednesday 🤦‍♂️ No way we will have only 3 positive with the Omicron variant if they have to rest more players could easily lead to game being canceled. Have no clue what the rules are for this though

It’d be our luck for all the hype surrounding Welichick for him to have covid for this game
(Not saying it’s him who’s positive, just a hypothetical)

Reading where 3 reported covid cases on team, 1 being a wide receiver.
Lather, rinse, repeat. Kinda like "Monday Insiders". The next few years may see the complete demise of everything remotely "normal" about college sports. And for that matter, any level of common sense as we once knew it. This world has completely turned upside down -- just total insanity. Stupidity rules. Congrats to all the socialists, nihilists and sheep. In just over a decade, you have basically weakened or erased America's world leadership and accomplishments of the past 250 years.

I heard on ESPN that teams aren’t testing after arriving at the bowl site. So either that is wrong or these three are actually sick.
If 3 were just found to have Covid and daily testing of asymptomatic people is being done then watch out. They are all around each other.

I’m pro-vax and have supported it from the start but the practice of testing asymptomatic, otherwise healthy vaccinated people is stupid.

People are waiting hours in line to be told if they’re sick here in Charlotte. It’s insanity.

This. I am vaccinated and have had the booster. This strain by all information available now should be treated differently then previous strains.

Yeah I agree I’m vaxed and boosted just makes no sense to still be testing asymptomatic people with a highly effective vaccine. So stupid to still have the same policies as we had before the vaccine. At least after Omicron hopefully we will reach herd immunity and good news Omicron doesn’t seem as deadly👍

I did the dumb thing and sat in a testing site drive up line for 4 hours. All the symptoms minus fever. Test came back negative. I have a cold, remember those?
I’ve been battling a cold for a couple days. We’re working from home over the holidays so it’s not a big deal but I haven’t tested yet. I have a cough. No fever, headache or other symptoms.

Fully vaccinated. I’m gonna ride it out, no way I’m spending that much time waiting in line for a test when I don’t have to be anywhere other than my living room for a couple weeks.

You're doing what my cousin did...she infected me at supper...she had a mild cough and some stuffiness in her head (fewer and less severe symptoms than last Christmas when her family also had it). 48 hours later I felt it...2 days later it kicked my ass, repeatedly...and now the rest of my family has it. It was 48+ hours of misery and isn't over yet.

Edit: I only had to wait 4 minutes to be tested.

Edit edit: you're NOT doing what my cousin did if you don't plan to leave your house for a few weeks. Good for you.

Dont think there is testing unless there are symptoms

What’s the point of getting a test? Ok so it comes back and says positive. Test or no test you still stay at home for a few days self medicate get better and move on. Some of these testing site lines are causing for major traffic delays as people are parking on busy roads and highways. Sheep
I got tested to know for sure I have it...it's likely gonna keep me from attending the funeral of a great Clemson Tiger who died Christmas morning...but I'll be damned if I'm gonna infect some 80 and 90 years old people simply because I feel good enough to be in public. I don't want that on my conscience.

Oh man I’m sorry to hear that! I haven’t left the house in about 5 days, when I was told a coworker tested positive. My wife and our 15-month-old are also here but they’ve been home, too.

I couldn’t in good conscience go around other folks if I knew I was sick with symptoms. Even if I had a negative test I wouldn’t do it. Knowingly spreading germs, COVID or otherwise, is just shitty

this variant seems to be milder than Delta, but much much more contagious by a long shot. Could be a good thing bc of herd immunity.

could be a bad thing if not enough people catch it within 6 months.
True. But I don’t know one single person who hasn’t had Covid yet .
