3 Covid Cases on football team?

Me and my wife are in the same boat….. both vaxed

had symptoms…… some of them but no fever….. we got tested to make sure we didn’t have it before having people
Over at Christmas and try and keep our kids from getting it….. sure enough we had it

now she works at a local hospital so testing could have been easier/quicker……

one thing I can say is new variant (assuming that’s what we have, no way to know for sure) is more than the sniffles, for us anyway……. Not all out terrible, certainly not like the flu as far as being in the bed……but we are on days 9 and 10 and I still feel lousy

True. But I don’t know one single person who hasn’t had Covid yet .
Doesn’t matter now but our family of 5 was Covid free until last week

only a handful of tests from direct exposure……all negative and my wife is a nurse taking care of Covid patients, all three kids are in school

we had been very lucky for sure

My family learned one thing in all this: don't believe the rapid tests. They'll lie to you in a heartbeat.

The more data that comes out, the more I think this variant wave should be treated differently.

Maybe it's just because I am tired of all this, because there is plenty of information we still don't know on omicron such as rates of MISC and long covid.

Virus so deadly these athletes have to be tested to know they have it.
I dont know the testing rules but the premise that they have to be tested to know they have it is...crazy. I didn't have to be tested to know that I was sick as hell with either the flu or covid...neither one is any fun.

I’m pro-vax and have supported it from the start but the practice of testing asymptomatic, otherwise healthy vaccinated people is stupid.

People are waiting hours in line to be told if they’re sick here in Charlotte. It’s insanity.
People just falling in line doing as their superiors lol tell them.

I did the dumb thing and sat in a testing site drive up line for 4 hours. All the symptoms minus fever. Test came back negative. I have a cold, remember those?
Went through the same thing minus the wait and eventually after 2 weeks of sniffles, coughs and congestion it finally went away.

Are you an 18-22 year old D1 athlete?

You're doing what my cousin did...she infected me at supper...she had a mild cough and some stuffiness in her head (fewer and less severe symptoms than last Christmas when her family also had it). 48 hours later I felt it...2 days later it kicked my ass, repeatedly...and now the rest of my family has it. It was 48+ hours of misery and isn't over yet.

Edit: I only had to wait 4 minutes to be tested.

Edit edit: you're NOT doing what my cousin did if you don't plan to leave your house for a few weeks. Good for you.
This is why this never ends, people are sick and do not care if they spread it

Why does that matter? Do you think young people don't get infected? My 14 yr old daughter who is a fantastic athlete has it right now.
It matters because that's who I'm talking about... Your 14 year old daughter is also not on the same scale of physical shape and performance of these football players. It's a sad world we live in where the effectiveness of others immune systems determine if you can live your life as you see fit.

I'm 31, non smoker, ex college wrestler, decent diet, and here I am 2 years into the greatest global "pandemic" and if I've had covid, it's news to me. I can't believe we haven't moved on to treating this like the flu.

I thought I responded to your post that said they had to be tested to know they were sick...maybe I misunderstood you.

I don't give a shit about who here has it or thinks it's the cold or how you feel.

I'm just interested in what is going on with our football team.

Went thru drive thru at Premier Labs on Pelham Rd, Greenville. Whole process less than 20 minutes. Results next day. Negative. Just a damn Cold.

It would be nice if we could get a variant that killed most of the unvaxxed so the rest of us can move on. Those selfish pieces of shit have had enough time.

I understand losing a loved one is difficult and extremely emotional experience, but really don’t get your comment. How can someone getting the vaccine help you, or someone not getting it hurt you. You can get it and carry it even if you are vaccinated. The only thing a vaccine does is lessen symptoms. Personally I don’t care if others are vaccinated or not. I close to get the vaccine but know many who haven’t, and I have not hard feeling with them at all.
If the vaccine would protect you against getting or carrying Covid, then I would get your logic but it doesn’t.
