12 out of 14 teams have been ranked in the top 25 AP poll (final poll). 2 haven't been ranked in the final AP poll in 10 years. This year and even last year it seems that NC St, Pitt and WF are on upwards trajectories. Miami and FSU look to have made major jumps so far this year, but time will tell. VT, GT, BC and Louisville are going the wrong direction. Clemson has been ranked all 10 years and 8 out of those 10 have been top 8 which is awesome.
Possible Future Expansion Teams (Final Top 25 AP polls)
ND - 7/10; 8, 8, 5, 12, 5, 11, 20
OK ST. - 7/10; 11, 7, 20, 14, 11, 20, 17
Baylor - 6/10; 9, 5, 13, 13, 7, 13
Cincy - 4/10; 4, 8, 21, 24
UCF - 4/10; 24, 11, 6, 10
TCU - 3/10; 9, 7, 3
Memphis 3/10; 17, 25, 25
Houston 3/10; 25, 17, 8
WV 2/10; 20, 18
USF 2/10; 21, 19
Iowa St 1/10: 9
Kansas St 1/10; 18
Texas Tech 0/10
Kansas 0/10
I was shocked to see Ok. St and Baylor with such high rankings over these last 10 years. Nice job by Cincy, UCF, TCU, Memphis and Houston as well. ACC might have to look a little West for future expansion as well. I know we all want out of the ACC and in the SEC, but I still think the ACC should try to take the best that is left of the Big 12. These teams seem to be OK St., Baylor, TCU and WV. If Kansas, Texas Tech, and Iowa St. want to join for basketball so be it. In fact, if I were the ACC I would go out and grab major teams and build a major basketball conference like what is happening in football. You could have 30 of the best teams not in the Big 10, Pac 12, or SEC. Add all of the best teams and go out and get Serious BB money. You could add Kansas, Uconn, Georgetown, Villanova, etc. If ND does ever want to join, then you could add another school with them to get to 20 for football.
