Active shooter in Florida school.

Mickey Plyer was talking early this morning about the Haas car wreck. He looked up the local news station out there in LA about the story. In that 4 hour span on their website he started readng the headlines of each story and it was unbelievable what went on in that one city in 4 hours. Evil is alive and thriving in this world. Prayers for all involved.

Just talked to my friend. She only has one in the school. I thought she had 2 but her daughter is still in 8th. She talked to her son and he's safe . He told her when he was running out he saw "dead people everywhere." He's a teenager so take it with a grain of salt but it sounds like multiple fatalities

Go haul his parents in right now and destroy them. No way a 14 year can use an arsenal like that without warning signs! Pathetic

Valentine’s Day will never be the same for these kids. Will always bring back bad memories.

This kid was following Syrian and ISIS affiliated groups. He also was involved in chats online around bomb making. This seems more ISIS inspired than an upset kid right now.

Unquestionably this country has a gun problem. The Second Amendment is laughably outdated there's no such thing as the people protecting themselves against a government with the capabilities of the United States of America.

That said this country has a spreading evil problem. These kids get so much coverage there almost idealized . We waste billions of dollars on everything under the sun and spend none protecting our schools. It's become so frequent people's outrage and sent the last for all of about 48 hours and nothing changes. What is it going to take for vigilance.

I'm sure they'll be a gun debate which I want no part in . I own multiple weapons because criminals are armed and people have the right to protect their home. But the ease in which people can legally obtained assault rifles or just lethal weapons in general is astonishingly stupid.

My opinion is it's time to spend whatever cost it may be to actually protect our children and if that means spending less "spreading democracy in the middle East" good.

Yeah I'm sure that's more effective in deterring future cases much more than blowing his head off on-site

Kid is being transported by a "motorcade" like he's a rock star.
Yes he is, and that’s part of the problem.
There is a Showtime series documentary called active shooter. There’s an interview with the parents of one of the victims of the Colorado theater shooting and they believed the media coverage and portrayal of these shooters entices more of the same. There’s probably merit...

Agreed. That's why I pointed it out.

What other Ammendments are outdated ?

We can get rid of the 3rd Ammendment right? Certainly we don’t need to believe the government will use our private homes to quarter soldiers.

Why do we need a 13th Ammendment? Slavery?? C’mon....So 19th Century!

The 19th?? Women’s right to vote? Surely we’ve evolved to the point such protection is laughable.

How many pervert pornographers and terrorists hide behind or use the 1st Ammendment to their advantage? Maybe we should repeal it.

And you negate your very point about the 2nd Ammendment: you say it’s “laughably outdated” then say you own weapons for home defense. So which is it?

But......you’re last sentence is spot on.

He meant home defense from criminals. Not home defense from the government. How can you watch children die month after month and not try to find a solution?

If you can sit here and look at dead children month after month and not think that a we have a gun problem, you dont have a soul.

All but one of my guns is for recreation. I don't need them.

It's a heart problem, not a gun problem. Take away the guns or make tougher laws.... only the law abiding citizens will be affected, not the criminals. Look no farther than the drug epidemic.

Are you seriously saying that there is no solution to this issue? Wow.

Home defense from criminals or home defense from the government - immaterial argument on your part. 2nd Ammendment ensures both. (Not that you’ll be successful trying the later one though)

And where do I say I’m not for finding a solution? Please read a post fully before responding. But if you’re interested I think there’s a few things that can be done: as some have mentioned stop giving these losers their 15 minutes of fame. Video games and movies that glorify violence simply for violence sake could have some kind of strict rating, NC17 or something like that. Strict and severe punishment: string this kid up, same with the Charleston shooter. More with mental health issues as well, I don’t know much of what’s available there but I’m sure we can come up with something.

Didn't think the shooting would bring up much 13th Amendment controversy ..I had just heard about it so I was reacting emotionally. . I disagree with people who usethe Second Amendment to defend the ease in which people with no business purchasing guns in the United States are allowed to do so .
For the record I have my cwp and I'm armed more times than not

STOP IT. I'm saying these are Godless, evil monsters who have no conscience or soul.
I am sorry but this isn't a 'God' or "godless" problem. There are plenty of people who are atheists or agnostics who don't go shooting up schools or shopping malls or workplaces. This is a problem of ammunition and guns being too darn available to people.

A 14- or 16-year old is unlikely to find another way to murder masses of people if guns were not made available to him or her. Build a bomb? Unlikely. Stab tens of people? Unlikely. Run down many people in a car? Perhaps but it seems it is a heckuva lot easier to get a gun these days than even illegally drive a car.

If one thinks the answer to this is to pray for the victims and 'godless people' you are doomed to see this repeated over and over again. And guess what? That is what we are seeing. How many school shootings have we seen in just 2018?

Don't twist my words. Someone who intends to murder will find a way. That's what I'm saying.

Maybe so. But take away the things that cause mass murder. Somebody went on a spree with a knife in Paris and injured 6 people. No deaths. This guy had guns and murdered over a dozen.

So you can say that people find a way to murder, but making it a lot harder to not commit mass murder seems like the way to go if you ask me. And don’t come back with the well they’ll make a bomb or use a car or some other BS. Because one those don’t kill near as much people as guns and the reason is because they are way more regulated than guns.

The we have a people problem not a gun problem because they’ll find ways to murder is asinine and obtuse.

You’re not going to stop evil people from doing evil things. We’ve seen guns, pressure cookers and fertilizer. Removing guns alone will not stop the problem
I’d say you’d see a lot less dead people. Actually I could guarantee it.

Don't twist my damn words! Do you think any of these murderers are God fearing people? Do you think if they had God in their life they would commit such heinous acts????
