From Rivals.com national analyst Cole Patterson:
Bryant Wesco is one of the premier pass catchers in the 2024 recruiting cycle. A lean receiver on the outside, Wesco has the ability to stretch the field vertically as well as create after the catch. The potential to be a go-to weapon on the next level is evident.
He averaged 20 yards per reception during his junior season while totaling 1,160 yards and 17 touchdowns on 58 grabs. That big-play ability has shown up on Friday nights and in camp settings versus high-level competition in Texas.
Furthermore, the four-star receiver adds an impressive track profile to his game on the gridiron. Wesco competes in the high jump, long jump and triple jump, qualifying for the state meet in track and field. Which only increases his ceiling on the next level.
Clemson was able to go into Texas and win out for a top target on several programs' boards. The Tigers won a head-to-head battle over Oklahoma, who was largely viewed as the team to beat in Wesco's recruitment for a long stretch.
Additionally, TCU was making a major push for the in-state target, while Lincoln Riley and USC had already hosted the Texas playmaker for an official visit in May. None of that mattered as Clemson added another big fish to its growing 2024 class.
The Tigers have attracted and produced big-time wide receivers in the Swinney era. Wesco has the talent to be next-up in that line. His commitment is further proof that Clemson remains a major force on the trail, as Wesco joins high four-star linebacker Sammy Brown and fellow four-star wideout Terrance Moore in committing this week.
