Air Polluntants are Racist

Serious question...is that really how you read that?
I think the headline wants people to look at it that way. Whether that is the intent of the story, who knows. I don’t really see why it would matter the race when it says regardless of location and income level. I could see if you say people in urban areas are at higher risk.

Did you read the article?

Did you read the article?
I did and it talks about what I was saying, people of color, generally are in more urbanized areas. No problem with the article, it’s the headline. But we all know division sells. I’m sure whites in those areas are just as affected.

Okay fair enough. I think you're inferring a bit on the headline's intent. There's only so much you can say in a headline, and that one pretty explicitly lays out the topic in the article.

One other question, do you think your thread title was race baiting?

I wouldn’t say race baiting but it was to draw people in, which I know is what you are getting at.
I’m also not a national publication and don’t constantly try to cause division.
Also don’t like the first sentence saying “regardless of location and income level” when that is clearly what the story is talking about. Can you agree to that?

I still have faith in peer reviewed publications and the New York Times. I don't agree with your take but I can respect it, and I appreciate the candid discussion.

Don’t expect everybody to agree on everything and appreciate civil back and forth.

What a crock. I read it. I kept looking for facts regarding pollutants and acceptable concentrations. You know. All those requirements that we are abiding by that comes from the Clean Air Act. They make it sound like we are still dumping like we did in the 70s. So what Obama did was hog tie every industry by reducing acceptable discharge limits by orders of magnitude. He did it via EO and Trump reversed and Now I'm sure Biden will reinstall and it will go to the courts.

Seems like the article is just more race baiting. Way past the point of they are peeing on our leg and don't care if we know it's not rain.

Most of us are impacted by power plants and industries. Very few by Residential Heating and that's the lucky ones that can afford gas heat.

Also note. Some might think this view is racist. You know who I'm talking ABOUT
