Am I being insensitive...

That's cool but did the economy matter to conservatives when they wanted Clinton out? Economy was strong. People's morals are for sale. That much is fact.

For the record I was pissed then as well. The same issues piss me off today. Doesn't change depending on what party we're discussing.
Point well taken. The country had a budget SURPLUS, yet Clinton was Stan reincarnate according to the right.

I agree that the country is in disarray, but the comment about not getting a job is unclear.
From the US Bureau of Labor Statistics:
We’ve enjoyed 99 straight months of job gains, with an average of more than 200,000 jobs created each month.

I am not political and do not keep up with these things, but I do know that there has been a bunch of positive news on the job front for quite some time now and a quick search on google verified it.

I am also seeing tremendous job growth in my industry (Information Technology-IT) that reinforces the above.

Why do you think there are no jobs?
Jesus dude

What is different now than the last 4 years of Obama?

I keep hearing from others that a lot has changed. You're saying nothing has changed? I'm hearing everything is much better now because Obama screwed everything up. You tell me.

As for me.....
Nothing. I'm treated the same way I've been treated my whole life.

No president has ever impacted my income sans a few thousand here or there regarding taxes. I've enjoyed life through all sorts of leadership styles and parties in that office. Like most of us we figure it out and make it work.

People who want others to stop being political are usually those that are comfortable with the status quo. But there are a lot of people out there right now who feel attacked by the status quo. Don't mistake not having skin in the game for being more rational than others.

And I say that as someone who is comfortable. My daily life is not impacted by almost anything politicians do other than taxes. But I can see why others would want to speak out.

Miserable people want to make other people miserable with them. They will use any platform to do it. And the media loves to present that misery.

Trading Tiger, Aren't you doing what you disdain? By blaming liberals, aren't you bringing a significant political bias into a conversation that is complaining about politics being brought into discussions where it does not belong. This conversation was about getting politics out of the discussion, so you blamed liberals for bring it in. As a moderate former Young Republican, I see both liberals and conservatives blaming the other side, making obviously false accusations, and seeing no blame on their own side.
No man, Trading was just stating a fact...it’s always the liberals that wanna inject politics into sports, entertainment, everything really...

I mean, let’s face it, how often do you see a conservative sports figure use their platform to promote their politics? On the flip side, how often do you see liberal sports figures use their platform to inject politics?

When you really compare the two, you will find that there is no comparison...

Politics doesn't belong in sports. For everything there is a purpose. Suck it up or leave and do politics. Don't try and have it both ways.

Go through history with the many times politics has been injected into sports and in your opinion which ones were miserable people wanting others to be miserable with them. Just curious. Your opinion.

Well the most recent one is players in the NCAA being paid for the use of their likeness. Republican from NC. This may be the game changer of all game changers. And it was introduced by a Republican.

But in my opinion it doesn't matter. Both sides participate. These changes and political injections throughout history have centered around improving the rights of people. Even in sports. Jackie Robinson, women being able to participate on sports, free agency, etc. Your suggestion says Republicans don't care about people's rights. That's not true.

Stop that. You don't interrupt a bunch of middle aged white men with facts when they have found something new to be oppressed by.

Yep I agree. Get politics out of sports. Start with the National Anthem, American Flag, and prayer before each sporting event.

Before people attack you I have to remind people that as a fact, these were and always have been intently political moves. No reason they should be involved unless you make an argument for international competitions USA vs someone. All good points.

Lol. Come on dude. The people that are bitching about an unjust society are mega millionaires. They are so disconnected from the real world that their opinion is worth less than their dog’s shit pile. I’d much rather see them put the millions they make to good use in struggling communities. I’m sure many do. It will do a lot more good than blaming whites for all the problems in the world. Racial injustice is an issue but blaming an entire race of people is retarded. EVERY race has racists. People from every race struggle financially. There was a time I 90-100 hours a week. The problems these people are bitching about affect every American. Personally, I’m going to listen to police, teachers and other people that are in the community on a daily basis and not some bitch ass whiney millionaire that doesn’t leave their gated community.

The fact is, we are the most diverse country in the world and we take people in from all walks of life. Our government and people have been trying for 60+ years to help minorities. I guess maybe I’m just sick of being called a racist when I would give someone in need of my help the shirt off my back regardless of race. What’s going on now isn’t strengthening our country it communities. It is just furthering the divide. I mean reparations are being talked about by presidential candidates. Shit is nuts.

I find that the white people that I know that are actually doing what they claim to be doing on social media or message boards never claimed to feel like racists. When you hear people being criticized and you are aware of who you are then you know they aren't taking about you. Your life and record speaks for itself.

Also, since the beginning of time the haves spoke for the have nots. No one would ever listen to the people you're talking about. The poor. They wouldn't have the platform or social capital to be listened to. That's why the rich have historically stepped up to speak for the poor. They have a great life and the least they could do is lend their voice to the voiceless. And many of them actually do give a lot of their millions away. Just saying.

I won’t attack and I’m to the point where I don’t care, but prayer isn’t politics. If a prayer offends people, well, I guess screw them. This coming from a guy who doesn’t attend church or pray. Our country could use a little more prayer if you ask me.

You just summed up in one post the problem with Christians. If something offends you it must be removed immediately. If something you do offends somebody else.. well F them.

I don’t disagree with any of that. I also noted that many of them do give financially. But I also understand the frustration because as a group, conservative white males have been portrayed as racist in the media. Yeah there are some and they repulse me just as they should anyone with a conscious. But I guess my conservatism has nothing to do with race or social issues as I am pretty liberal socially. I am more worried about the recent push to socialism from the left.

Didn’t say Republicans don’t care about people’s rights, I just said conservative athletes do not tend to use their sport’s platform for politics...
Not saying conservative athletes don’t get involved in politics either...they just separate the two while liberal athletes blatantly use their platform for political gain.
There is a difference...& the vast majority of people in this country don’t tune in to sporting events to have an athlete’s political agenda shoved down their throat...
Take Megan Rapinoe...she disrespected the flag & basically told Trump (& those who support him) to F-off...yet she preaches inclusion at the parade?! Now, don’t you think that took some luster off the whole event for half of the Americans? We just wanted our National team to do well but then we’re attacked with an agenda...so she basically excluded us while preaching inclusion?!
I imagine you voted for Obama during his years...how would you feel if someone from the American team basically told Obama (& his supporters) to F-off??

Well, I’m not Christian, so....

Have you not seen liberals lately? What you just stated is how they act. It’s not just Christians. A California school just painted over a mural of George Washington because it offended students. Yeah. That’s cool though.

We already elected a lunatic.

And the market is up around 8,600 points since election night. That's almost 47%!

And taxes are down for almost everyone, and down considerably for many people.

Incredibly low unemployment, record low for minorities.

Back to 3%+ GDP growth, which never happened under the previous president.

I get that people don't like the tweets or brashness, but things are actually going really, really well.

This. And I find his tweets entertaining, for the most part. But I didn’t vote for his Twitter skills, I voted for the other things you mentioned.

They've been telling Obama and his supporters to eff off for years lol.

Again, preaching inclusion doesn't impact those who are already practicing those ideas. Conservatives that already operate that way are not offended. She's targeting a group based on the public record of many of them but not all conservatives operate that way. Again, those that support the idea don't feel attacked. They are comfortable in their skin.

Obama achieved 3% gdp growth many times.

Our deficit is also growing at a record rate under trump. But don’t let that ruin your party, our kids will be paying for it.

LOL, how did he create that surplus? Trump could create a surplus just like Clinton did, but we'd all be speaking Spanish, Russian, Chinese, or Arabic just a few short months later.

Good try though.

I wasn’t old enough to care at that time but the opposing party is always the devil. As a conservative, I would love to get a drink with bill. I always liked him. His faults made him seem to relate to the common folk better. Plus, he gave us several great gifs...

Manning probably didn't hate Obama and Obama probably didn't hate him. It was strictly a difference in political ideals. I'm guessing of course but I don't remember Obama cursing all athletes so Manning just exercised his voting right but nothing personal.

Plus, I don't mind athletes going to the White House to see Trump but maybe you meant to tag someone else. I'll give you a pass.

What is she attacking? I mean, I don’t think anyone has a problem with equal pay for the women’s team if the revenue they generate is on par with that of the men’s team...so I’m confused. Why is she so vehemently attacking Trump & his supporters? Is it just b/c she’s a lesbian & the homosexual community believe they have to be democrats? I mean, if that’s it, Trump sent out celebratory tweets to commemorate gay pride month & literally none of his policies have affected the homosexual community. Are they mad b/c he didn’t light up the White House in rainbow colors for the month of June?? I mean, im trying to figure out why she’s so mad?!

I think she's attacking those that she feels attacked her. I hope she understands that some in her own community are Republicans. But again, I don't think she's necessarily attacking Republicans. I think she is angry and defensive because she feels attacked by Trump and Trump supporters. All Republicans aren't created equal. I hope she knows that. My point is all Republicans aren't feeling attacked by her because they are and have been inclusive. And again I'm pretty sure some are actually a part of the LBGTQ community. I'm guessing. I haven't totally kept up with her claims in detail. I think I understand in general.

As the article confirms, Obama never reached a 3% annual GDP growth rate.

Definitely valid. I would love for us to reduce spending and cut into the deficit. The problem is spending though, not a lack of revenue from hard-working families like mine.

On the ESPYs last night, one thing that was good was the piece on Bill Russell.

wonder what the voters in AOC's district are like?

could not imagine anyone that's graduated high school voting for her.

That area is a heavy Dem lean. That's why she won the general. That said, the Amazon thing might bite her in the ass.

In the primary (the real battle there) her opponent underestimated her and was afraid of looking weak if he really went after her hard. He was supposedly a candidate for Speaker.

Wanting Clinton out was one thing what tho? They wanted him out really bad based on his moral compass. Or should I say lack of one. Are they being consistent or not? Because that was the point of that.

You just did exactly what I explained in another thread. You kind of acknowledge something on your side but then explain why the other side is worse. Classic. And I said both sides do this.

Saying 95% of the media still doesn't make it true. And I'm glad you said "majority of the electorate". You acknowledge you couldn't say majority of the people. That was smart.

As a nation our moral compass has shifted. The same stuff that Clinton got hammered on while in office seems to matter very little anymore. Maybe we've just come to expect less of our politicians. I don't know. Of course now the Ds are considering Bill Clinton the devil.

That said - in the last election there were honestly very few candidates that could lose to Trump, and yet the Dems found one.

I agree that the country is in disarray, but the comment about not getting a job is unclear.

You don't have to get angry and call them names lol. That's part of the problem now. People don't want to see Trump because of who he is personally not because he is a conservative or a republican. He's a horrible person not politics. That's what you don't get.

When the next republican wins people will be back to visiting the White House. There were a few people who didn't visit Obama but they disagreed with his politics not because he called them names and was a horrible human being. I didn't keep track of who those people were or how many did it because them exercising their right didn't bother me like it's bothering you. I know for a fact it happened but I can't name a single person that did it.
