I have 2 lawyers in my neighborhood that I am friends with. They are both totally against Capital Punishment. I was asking them why and they both told me that the cost of a Capital Punishment trial, appeals, and other cost far outweighs a life sentence trial. They also told me that a person can not claim guilt in a Death Penalty trial. If the death penalty is sought then the person can not claim guilt. Now the person can claim guilt in a life sentence trial. I never knew this fact. So I ask any lawyers on here. Are you opposed to the death penalty?
