What I don't get is why do Republicans throw shade at Bernie (as a presidential candidate) right now. He's not electable. But he could win the nomination. He's one of the ones you WANT to win the nomination.

Were I in charge of strategy and negative campaigning, I wouldn't spend my best stuff yet. I'd be collecting dirt and wait until after the Democratic convention, and then start letting it out.

The best stuff would come out about 3-7 days before the election.

I doubt that. Bernie is (to be blunt and to use Main Board terminology) a bit of a cuck from what I've seen. I think Trump would eat him alive.

And Trump supposedly didn't really expect to win the presidency anyway (according to Cohen - take that as you will) so I don't doubt at some point Trump said that. He may have also been needling the DNC who screwed Bernie. But he kept pushing.

Trump will never get much above 50-55% of the popular vote because of the R beside his name on the ballot, but I think he could beat Bernie. Very few candidates will ever get above 60% if they get that much (LBJ was the last to get over 60% - man the drugs must have been REALLY good then).

Electoral college is a different story.
