Having this setup allows the ACC to cycle through the entire conference every other year. I really think this is an awesome setup. The Coastal/Atlantic divisions were starting to get a little stale. It will always pit the two best teams in the championship game, which is the way it should be. I assume that if the ACC added 2 teams (WV/ND/TCU/OK ST.) then we would go to a 3-6-6 setup and so forth. I have heard that once the SEC has TX and OK in the mix, they are going to a 9 game conference setup. Either way, it will be a nice change to get to play everyone in the conference every 2 years. It could create some new rivalries as well as reach more TV viewers. I do think if we go to a 9 game conference schedule it would be great to see some of the games moved to neutral sites for additional revenue as well as to reach more potential fans (Washington DC/Charlotte/Atlanta (like GT game)/Jacksonville/Orlando/Tampa/Miami/Baltimore/New England/Pittsburgh/Philadelphia/Jets Stadium/Giants Stadium). You could come up with some catchy names that stick like the largest cocktail party and also tie them to big music festivals/sponsors as well so the fan is getting a major weekend of sports and music. Southern Fried Country College kickoff, Buffalo Trace Throwdown, Allstate Good "Bands and Hands "Football Festival, Dr. Pepper. Ultimate Pop Football Party, Woodstock Football Jam You get the idea. There are ways to create more publicity, money, fans for EVENTS. These types of events need to be in large cities to pull off with lots of hotels. Imagine creating an entire season that is engaging for the fan. Personally, all colleges should try to incorporate this into their homes games as a way to make some additional revenue (tickets/food and beverage sales/merchandise sales, etc.). Miami could bring in a ton of sand and have a kickass beach tailgate rocking party. Boston could incorporate music and food. Louisville could have a bourbon and music tailgating festival, UNC/UVA could have wine/cheese and music festivals. With this new scheduling setup, I think it really opens up the door for a lot more travel experiences.
