Are you kidding me? What is wrong with this country?

This is a big overreaction to kids not following the rules. It'll get spun into liberals being the devil (which they are in most cases,) instead of the kids being idiots and choosing to throw up the double barrel middle fingers to their school admin after being initially warned to not post/show political messages.

This should be a big nothing burger because the appropriate punishment was doled out after the school warned them, but it will turn into a giant shit throwing fest from folks on both sides of the aisle.

I fully expect @johnhugh to cause some old timer on the board to lose his shit and threaten to kill him; on the other hand, I expect @Ron Munson to trigger a handful of never trumpers into homicidal intent.

Let's get this shit rollin!

I am as big of a conservative as anyone out there, but I kind of agree with this policy. I don't want to go to any sporting event and have to get into that crap back and forth. I don't want to see any damn political signs. That includes Hillary, Obama, Bush,Trump, ANYONE

I just want to take 3 hours out of my day to get brain dead, relax, and watch some damn football

I wish everyone would have that policy. I am tired of the political statements. I just want to forget about that crap for a period of time every Friday or Saturday

As long as they are consistent in their policy, I got no problem with it. A high school football game doesn’t need to be turned into a political rally. The only issue was they were in uniform.

If I recall, the cheerleaders punishment was basically “double secret probation” and a “don’t do that again.” Having a protest on their behalf was a bit much.

I kind of understand the political sign stuff and really feel uncomfortable when you have the overly aggressive Christians pushing people to change at football games, but what does get me is the policies against the American flag. Yeah your rights stop where another persons begins but people should not be offended by the flag that represents the very thing that’s giving you the rights you have. Now yes you shouldn’t be able to bring in a giant flag and prevent other patrons from attending a sporting event and being able to see the event they came to enjoy, but they are banning flags from campuses period. And that’s just over the top inmho.

You are free to speak (write, make a sign, etc..) whatever you want. You are not however free from the consequences. If your organization says you can't make a political sign of any kind and you go and do it, you will be punished.

How is this hard to understand. Uber conservative here by the way!

Didn't vote for Trump last time, probably won't this time, but this is the kind of stuff that is going to get him elected.

I 1000% agree.

I'm about as middle ground as they come. I typically vote republican, but I've voted democrat before.

Some of my more rational democrat friends really think this kind of stuff is backfiring in a big way. It's really galvanizing people who might not necessarily be pro-Trump to vote that way simply because they're so sick of the incredible double-standard for liberals in today's age.

Snowflake sissy democratic socialists
I believe this thread is quite the opposite. I see a bunch of pxssy Republicans whining like a bunch of babies. The most sensitive party in this country led by the most immature and sensitive POTUS in our country's history. You need to run to your safe place ... FOX News.

BTW, there is no need in allowing politics to be involved in high school activities whether the support is for the left or the right IMO.

Then you’ve got to take your blinders off. For any school to cancel a football game because some kids who don’t even play expressed their political feelings is the textbook definition of snowflake. Trying to infringe on their rights in order to make them conform to how the teachers and school board (who are and always have been liberals for decades across this country) view everything is beyond ridiculous.

You do realize that if the story was about these kids holding up Elizabeth warren signs the you would have the complete opposite opinion on this, right?

No I’d just call them dumb and uneducated teenagers who can’t even vote anyways. But I guarantee you that no football games would’ve been canceled...

Lol all teachers and school boards are liberal but liberals are uneducated.
There are a shit ton of idiots who masquerade as teachers. Just because you get a teaching certificate doesn’t mean you’re smart. I guess you’ve never heard of the difference between street and book smart either, right?

Is there such thing as sweet sweet hot caramel and chocolate in these popcorns you speak of? I would like some.

So in your world anyone who votes democrat is dumb and uneducated?

Are you street smart? What streets did you make your bones on man?

The irony here is that the same people that are triggered by this story would lose their damn minds if they went to a high school game and saw a hilary sign.
No, not really. I get your sentiment, but conservatives usually have other things on their minds like going to work and living their lives.

Have you guys ever been to Stanley? They can’t open Walmart’s there on Black Friday for fear of safety.

No, not really. I get your sentiment, but conservatives usually have other things on their minds like going to work and living their lives.

And yet this very thread on an internet message board complaining about this scenario was started by a conservative. And you and many other conservatives are spring tour time commenting in it.
