"Armed Protests" - have people lost their minds?

Regardless of what party they are, what their ethnic group is, or what their cause is I'm not in favor of people being able to openly carry firearms like that during a protest. At some point there are going to be counter protesters present and also carrying guns and something terrible is going to happen.

To clarify - I'm not against protests and I'm not against guns but the combination seems to be a recipe for disaster.

Gun guys have an expression - "Fudds". It's guys who use guns but don't really understand them. These are the ones who often say things like "I forgot it was loaded" when almost shooting something they don't mean to. Every group has them.

Oh how well I know. I’m a big gun guy. A while back me and a former military friend of mine were shooting my 308 and 7mm magnum at 800 yards at a 8” steel plate hung from chains. I was having a good time slapping the gong with my 308 both by hold over and dialing the turrets over and over. Then I planned on using my 7mm magnum but first enter friend who wants to try 7mm first. I’m walking to my four wheeler when I hear the shot that I immediately knew didn’t sound right. Turn around and see him rolling on ground with blood flying everywhere. Look over and 7mm bolt action is in about 17 different pieces. He chambered a damn 308 round in the 7mm and fired it. We are in an area that can only be gotten to by atv or helicopter. After 30 minutes of trying to stop the bleeding from all the cuts and holes in his face we left. Haven’t been back with him since.

And the 7mm happened to be my first rifle that my deceased father bought me when I was 18. So it had a little sentimental value but all it takes is one mistake and things go wrong fast. I’ve been shooting a lot for 27 straight years and luckily that’s the only thing that’s ever happened. While not physically to me I still look back and now realize even if it’s a friend who’s ex military and especially if it’s my weapon, never turn your back. Watch what’s happening.

And the Department of Justice - the Trump Dept of Justice - has been unable to find any linkage between Antifa and crime during these protests. Believe me, these are such sophisticated people that they can escape inquiry from the DOJ.

I also think antifa is a fairly small group, but think its well organized and financed. You did not give the information related to white supremacist groups imitating antifa though, please provide that if possible. For the record, I am not a supporter of any white supremacist groups of any kind.
