It’s been almost three months since 14-year Airforce veteran, Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed by a Capitol Police Officer in the US Captiol.
Today her husband, Aaron Babbitt, broke his silence and is thanking everyone for their support.

We can’t begin to express our sincere gratitude for the outpouring of support and generosity that’s been received, both from here in America, and honestly from around the world. It’s been a difficult three months without our Ashli. She’s missed in every minute, of every hour, of every day. The void is tremendous and overwhelming at times, but the love that’s been shown shows us that her name will not be forgotten.

We cannot, and will not, let her name be forgotten. It will be etched in the history books of our future, honoring the life of an amazing woman taken from this world far too soon. This world is far from a better place without her, she had so much to offer and give.
Thank you, to all of you amazingly loving people. Your comments and donations have been a beautiful symphony to drown out the other noise, and have helped in ways we cannot not express. The world doesn’t know who she was to us, but that is what we cling to. Regardless of the bad reporting, and slanderous rhetoric, we know who our girl was.
We know OUR Ashli. Our Ashli that wanted nothing but to help people at their worst, and make the world a better place for everybody.
A Combat Veteran, true American, a true Patriot, murdered and taken from the world far too soon.
A simple “thank you” doesn’t begin to describe our gratitude, but it’ll have to suffice for the moment as we begin our long trek of bringing justice for our beautiful, magnanimous, larger than life Ashli.

I watched the video and have no problem with the shooting. She broke through a doorway that was effectively the last line of defense before an office full of civilians. The officer could have easily been overrun if he allowed her and the people behind her to come through.

I mean it’s a shame, but this one falls in the “play stupid games, win stupid prizes” camp. You get what you get when you charge an officer with a gun.

Did you watch the video? She broke through a door despite the officer shouting at her and the horde behind her to stop. He had no way of knowing their intentions.

What would you do if a stranger with a fired up horde of weirdos breaks through your front door when being told to stop? Personally, I’m not checking them for weapons. They’re catching a bullet.

While I don't necessarily disagree, I've seen lot's of people - many the same ones who are saying that this shooting was justiifed - argue that disobeying a police officer's orders is NOT sufficient reason for them to shoot you.

I do think it was a setup, but agree, she got roped into the stupid games stupid prizes category. Thousands of Americans were there to support without violence, it’s a shame some stupid Patriots got sucked into the Antifa games. Their bad and I will not lose sleep. If one wants to be an ant they are bound to get stepped on, unfortunately this was not the route to take in protest, same with all the riots, there are better ways.
