These people are sick, but the media spins things with lack of integrity. I'm free speech but understand there are legitimate constitutional limitations on free speech that are in the best interests of society, like banning child pornography.
I may trigger when I read of book banning but I will also wait to hear why the books were banned. The woman makes legitimate points for banning these particular books because young girls should not be sexualized in this manner. We all have mothers; some have wives, daughters and sisters. This type of content does not belong in a public school library.
If the books were banned on religious content, I would not support the ban. I don't care what religion, people get to read fair content. I also support a moment of silence in school rather than a moment of defined Christian prayer because while I personally believe in Christian prayer I accept there are many non-Christians and they have personal religious liberties that should be equally respected.
American is off track if this is what "woke" is.
where do you personally draw the line? what if you and i don't draw the same line? i should be subjected to your personal line? there is a lot of smut in the bible, but it shouldn't be banned because it's in olde english or you think it's passable because it also talks about god? maybe parents should just be responsible for their kids and we shouldn't rely on the government banning things at their will. maybe you're right and we should rely on big brother to tell us what is OK to consume.
