Bama fans…. SMDH

What was the racist part? About the projects? Isn't that the same narrative the national media used to get players paid? They were all poor kids, etc...

Here is the definition of racism in case you needed a reminder.

“prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism by an individual, community, or institution against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized.”

Yes it is bc it seems to be based upon their skin color, has to be. Unless he googled every one of those he’s yelling at and discovered that all of them are in fact “from the projects”.

If they, for example, looked back at him and said “go back to the trailer park” that would also, likely, be a racist comment based upon the observation that his skin is white (which I am kind of assuming…).

Okay, bad look for sure, but let's not pretend like every race and every fan base doesn't have someone like that.

If that guy thinks his Texas fan base doesn't have an exact replica of that fan, then I don't know what to tell him.

Are there a lot of gays in the projects?

You're not going to give the liberal interpretation?

They did not make any racial specific comments. Just inferred that they were marginalized because they were poor. Now is there a stereo type that black people live in projects. I would have to travel to NYC and Chicago to test out that theory.

Its not overtly racist. Definitely insulting.

Heck, when I was born I lived in the project in Charleston. At age 3 we finally moved to a regular home. It's certainly not racist. It might be more about economics (economical).

Yeah, but if you had to guess, why do you think those Bama fans are choosing that particular insult to hurl at those particular players?

Am I wrong, or were they yelling the “f” word? That’s anti gay, not racist.

The “projects” part was bad, too.

Just clarifying.

Some folks take sports far too seriously.

I’ve heard worse at Clemson, unfortunately. Was with my dad and mom in 2010, when we played Miami. N-word and other insults were flying at the Miami players before and during the game.

We were about 30 rows from the field and couldn’t believe the stuff these guys about 15 rows up were shouting. The entire Miami bench could hear it. They beat us 30-21 and I think that’s the last time they beat Clemson. I’m pretty sure they played the entire game, angry.

Bama fans gonna Bama fan but the sentiment applies to many other programs.

That kind of behavior is pathetic. It's sad people get that way over sports. Interestingly many in this thread who are condemning this are among the first to be idiots when things go wrong for us.

Also, Ard allowing opinions is what he does best and most right. That the usual individual who thinks he has the only acceptable opinion wants to limit others ability to say what he deems speech he doesn't like is just so typical of his authoritarian and tyrannical view on nearly everything. That is also quite pathetic and far more alarming than anything that was said by the morons in the video.

Hot take: People need to get some thicker skin. Its a football game and people yell and shout mean things. Homophobic, yes. Racist, no.

We have all heard a lot worse things directed towards people of all races. Stop being offended by everything.

Personally, I don't give a rats behind what some random stranger yells at me. Toughen up people. Dude has 350 pound lineman and super athletic linebackers chasing him trying to take his head off and we are supposed to believe a few words are going to hurt him?

Now his mom is on X saying how "offended" she was and how horrible it was etc. Puhlease, he probably says similar shit with his teammates and friends on a daily basis. Charmin soft

I was never indoctrinated with woke ideology I guess.
Hilarious. I can see your strategy now. I’m about as far from woke as one can be…this is the basic definition of Racism…which is prejudgment.

That’s not remotely the woke definition of racism (which would be CRT’s), matter of fact it’s the polar opposite, but thanks for playin!

Actual they were just trying to be insulting because the Texas players were celebrating. It really isn’t as deep as y’all want it it be.

Exactly, who gives a shit what a couple losers on the losing end of a football game think or say We’re so fragile as a society… Try going overseas and see how you’re treated, white or black

A couple idiots told some black kids to go back to the projects and a bunch of grown men on a message board are now on the brink of tears over it. It’s equally part hilarious and terrifying

No, I believe the comment was made because black people are in larger category to be in that socio-economical situation. I'm just saying that black people living in the projects are not automatically in that situation, or own that situation. Where I lived in St. Andrews Homes (West Ashley) was originally built as housing for military during WWII. After WWII it still had a lot of military families, but other families as well. But there were other projects in Charleston and North Charleston that were predominately black, such as Ben Tillman Homes in North Charleston, and Robert Mills Manor in Charleston, and one that I cannot remember the name that is/was near upper Meeting Street.

I am 40. Grew up in the 90s when words didn’t hurt everyone’s feelings so bad.
I’m as strong as a Free Speech advocate as you’ll find. I think any ideology or authoritarian mission is a complete stain on this country or society in general.

So, here are these people attending a Univ of Alabama game where you have seen unprecedented victories and success for 15 years. This success created and executed by all types of people yet I haven’t seen a video similar to this yet at Alabama condoning their own players for celebrating.

But when an ounce of adversity strikes, these people strike at the lowest deplorable form of hate. Pathetic.

Ironically, Texas has gone the complete opposite of Bama during this period. Dance and much respect for putting it together in Tuscaloosa.

Your words don’t hurt. Your character however is in the sewer.

My guess is you've never sat near an opposing bench, sat along third base line or along the outfield fence. Try a hockey game!

Edit: But I do despise me some Bama fans!!
Plenty of times. Been courtside a bunch too. No shortage of racist assholes out there. I actually wish more athletes would beat the shit out of fans who say stuff like that.

So what’s your point?
