Clemson has just received a 2016 basketball commitment from St. George (Va.) Blue Ridge wing Scott Spencer, per TigerIllustrated.com sources.
Spencer (6-5, 185) is the 3-point shooter the staff targeted the more it saw him in July.
He flew under the radar during the spring playing out of position with another AAU squad. But this summer, he joined Team Wall – which featured offered wing Jalen Johnson – and put together a string of prolific outside shooting performances later in the month.
Kansas State and East Carolina had offered last month, as did Murray State, Buffalo and Western Kentucky.
He visited Clemson last weekend, which got the ball rolling toward today’s news.
Spencer is a high school teammate of Mamadou Diakite, who just committed to Virginia. This is also the school that produced former Clemson offensive tackle Isaiah Battle.
He’s the second player featured in this video behind Johnson.
