It’s hard to dismiss the virus when so many have died. But it’s silly that we are testing asymptomatic, vaccinated athletes without cause.

If a player is sick with symptoms, test them and any close contacts. But if everyone is fine, testing for the sake of testing is stupid. The point of the vaccine is to prevent severe illness or death, and it’s doing that with overwhelming efficacy.

I know some have died from this and it is a travesty, but it should also be a travesty when people die from the flu, or pneumonia, or in some cases with older people, the common cold.

Honestly, I haven't even gotten a booster. I got the original 2 when they first were made available. I've been trying to wade through all the evidence about boosters, duration, effectiveness, etc. So in short, I just don't know. My hospital requires a yearly flu shot and I have always done that.

There's just so much that we don't know...I hope that this think evolves to be the same as every coronavirus that's existed for centuries. But to say COVID 19 is just a cold or the flu is not true. I have seen more death and hospitalizations from this illness in a short amount of time than can be imagined.

That said I hope Omicron and future variants are much less virulent and we can stop worrying about this thing...and it can stop causing so much division among everyone

2. Vaccinated people can and do transmit Covid. (possibly more than unvaccinated)
3. Vaccinated people are less likely to need hospitalization than unvaxxed with comorbities. If you are healthy, you could be better off not getting vaxxed. It's your choice.
4. Animals can get Covid too, and it is possible for animals to spread it. No one is calling for the animal population to get the jab. There will be no eradication of this virus. Antibody tests have shown that at least 1/3 whitetail deer population has had Covid.

So, why are we calling for unvaccinated people to get it other than big pharma making $? ( This is not a true vaccination, it will not eradicate covid)

My point is that this new variant is basically the common cold. The NCAA is testing all players when originally the testing was being done to push the players to get vaccinated. The goalpost keep moving.

Just had a customer with a box of rapid tests that every test in the box they used was a positive result. Same people tested with same brand from a different box…everyone who tested positive from other box tested negative with the new box of test

PCR tests and testing positive right out of wrapper without even swabbing anyone. This shot is out of control

When I saw that the Omicron variant was first detected in South Carolina in Clemson, and seeing these other bowl games being canceled due to the Corona virus and the transfer portal, everytime I come on TI, I am expecting to see Clemson's game canceled. This is the time we live in, and apparently it is not going away.

I had Covid, it was bad. I got vaccinated. Others in my family got it too, It wasn't that bad for them. They didn't get vaccinated and I'm cool with that. You should be too.

Well said. I’m a moderate on this as well as most other controversial issues. I’m vaxxed and boosted. My two elementary age daughters are not and probably won’t be. I’m currently sitting in a deer stand waiting for a fat doe to walk out while drinking a watermelon white claw. Haha.

I know several folks, from 32 years old on up, who would likely still be here if not for COVID. They left children, parents, spouses, siblings etc behind. I don’t agree with vax mandates. But COVID sucks more than the right wingers want to admit and it is usually not near as terrible as some left wingers think. I hate COVID. I hate cancer. I hate ALS. They (and many other diseases) do some terrible things to good, otherwise healthy people. But I hate the division that COVID has brought to our country more than all.

All that said, I think Omicron, if it indeed proves to be milder over time, could be the end we are all looking for. It’ll spread like wildfire. The hysteria that will ensue will have us all on edge, one way or another. But hopefully it’ll be a milder, dominant strain for a while. Everyone can build a little immunity to it and the terrible things we are used to hearing about can flame out along with the virus.
