Because their isn't any successful example. Capitalism can't be run from central planning, it falls apart and you get the last days of the Soviet Union.

That said, their is a discussion to be had (economics is complicated right) about socialist policies as part of a Multi-pronged approach to a Representative Democracy the same way we have implemented parts of a corporate oligarchy. I really have no idea what our government system is these days other than a pretty successful mashup of ideas.
