Clearly a matter of opinion. But for me:
Hockey is horrible on TV. I just can’t follow the puck. But great in person or radio (I remember listening to the Ft. Wayne Comets on WOWO with a transistor radio under the pillow)
I personally hate basketball on TV, even Clemson. (Prolly just me) But I really enjoy going to games at LJ and radio. I just want a bigger view than tv with the ability to focus on an individual or watch the coach.
For whatever reason golf is really good on TV. LOL when the announcers used to whisper. I’ve never been to a live event.
Soccer translates well to TV and live. Never heard it on radio.
Football is great on TV, radio, and live. Can’t do TV with radio sound anymore. That’s when you find out you aren’t really watching live. 😀
Baseball for me is a late night radio game. It inspires the imagination. I used the same transistor under the pillow for the Clemson-Auburn regional from Gastonia in the 1960s and west coast Braves games.
But baseball is great on TV!
