usually wins.

I see and read a few comments about this topic but it is one that deserves more discussion. The 2015 version of the Clemson Tigers looks every bit the part of an elite Top 3 team when it comes to the eye test before the game and on the field.

National analysts like Todd McShay are making comments about Shaq Lawson and this entire defense and the number of potential NFL draft picks suiting up. It wasn't that long ago when people said that Clemson had great skill players but didn't have the needed strength and size in the trenches to match up with the big boys of college football. Well that has all changed over the last few years and is really evident with this year's team.

It all starts with recruiting bigger, stronger, faster kids but a tip of the hat has to also go to the strength and conditioning program and the nutrition program at CU. When we get off the bus we look like a different team altogether in my opinion compared to just a few short years ago.

416 yards rushing against a conference opponent with a winning record?! Are you kidding me? We have 5 new offensive linemen and a RB that has gained 15-20 lbs of muscle since he came to Clemson. How many times did the pile move forward Saturday? This is a different team than the Clemson teams of old. We can win with defense and a power running game. We can also win with athletes and skill on the edges.

We've absolutely controlled the line of scrimmage this year even against a vaunted OL / DL from Notre Dame. We have the horses to stand toe to toe with any elite level team on the lines of scrimmage.

Add to it ridiculous skill and you get an elite team which is what Clemson is right now. Did you freakin' see that INT from a back up safety (Jadar Johnson)? He looked like a 12 foot Panther was back in coverage that leapt out of a tree to grab that ball and stay in bounds. And the social media crew that put out the Vine on that with the No Fly Zone hashtag! I love it!

What the hell does a QB think when he looks over and sees a 6-5 230 lb safety about to blitz?! Jayron is a complete freak as is Mac Alexander who just shuts down teams best WR's each week. Not many teams have those kinds of athletes in the secondary playing behind guys like Shaq rushing the passer. And how about ol' Kevin Dodd? He is the poster child for player development at CU.

This is the kind of athleticism we saw from FSU in the 90's and early 2000's. CU did not have these type of athletes getting of the bus under Bowden. I promise you that.

The hits we are putting on QB's, WR's, and backs are nasty. The OL is getting nasty too along with Gallman and are delivering punishing blows against defenses. The Charone Peake blocks too! This is kind of nastiness that intimidates and demoralizes an opponent. And I flat out love it!!!!

Tip of the hat to Batson and crew. And it's a lot more than just Batson. We have an entire staff of trainers and nutrition folks getting it done. Hats off to the players too for putting in the work. They definitely pass the eye test and are flat out nasty on Gameday.

Excited to see where we end up this year.
