President Donald Trump has issued a statement responding to the Electoral Certification through White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino — as he is currently suspended from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
President Trump said that while he “totally disagrees” with the results, there will be a “peaceful transition of power.”
He did not concede.
The statement reads as follows:
TRENDING: BREAKING: Unarmed Woman Shot and Killed by Capitol Police Identified - 14-Year USAF Veteran (VIDEO)
“Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Traitor Mike Pence certified the election results at 3:40 a.m. EST.

LMAO... Yep, Mike Pence is a traitor for sure. EVERYONE is a traitor (except Donald Trump). So a quick question. So given the number of "traitors" around Trump that Trump hand selected, at what point does his statement about "picking the best people" mean that he's just a dumbass? Asking for a friend...

You need to get some perspective man. How is someone a traitor for certifying the results of an election? This is about the United States of America, not about a party and not about a person. We have to be better than this.

I know the Democrats are going to gloat and hammer this into the ground and make all kinds of outrageous statements and lie through their teeth about everything that went on; but we still have to be better. Eventually the chickens will come home to roost for the Democrats. what happened yesterday was over the line and out of control and not representative of anything that we believe in. The rule of law must take precedent and people need to stop trying to circumvent that because they think the election was unfair or corrupt.

First of all. It's not about American to OP. It's about Donald Trump. It always has been. And it's never been about America to Donald Trump. It's been about Donald Trump. That's the way he's lived his entire life and just because he was elected President, that didn't change.

I would have been OK with the Republicans keeping the Senate as I really don't have a problem with divided government. It's actually better when the opposing party has the HOR and not the Senate, though. The Senate does a LOT of work that really shouldn't be political, but is. Namely confirming (or not) the President's choices for various positions in government. I've always been of the opinion that the President chooses who he wants and as long as that person has the skills and qualifications to do the job (and isn't bat shit crazy), the Senate should vote to confirm that choice. Obviously that isn't what goes on now, and that's a huge waist of time.

So I'm pretty happy with the way things turned out. Biden has enough support to not simply have everything he wants to do obstructed for the sake of obstruction, but his margins are pretty darn thin. So I'm thinking that there are enough moderates to stop any crazy stuff from getting passed.

Completely agree with this. I really hope, and so far the rhetoric from the President Elect has been that he plans to lower the angry rhetoric. Biden has always been pretty moderate and I hope that will allow him to have some measure of success working across the aisle.

The two parties really need to work there way back to the middle and away from the extremely vocal minorities on the outside of the parties. We have done an amazing job of eliminating any moderation in American politics, even going so far and to demonize those who try to compromise and "weak". It's about America, not party.

OP definitely loved it yesterday when those terrorist Trump supporters tore down an American flag in the capitol and replaced it with a trump flag.

What happened yesterday is exactly representative of what the Republican Party believes. look at your congressional members and the President who fomented this insurrection by proffering and supporting fantastic lies about voter fraud, whipping up their base. The RNC even hosted one of those bat shit crazy Sidney Powell & Rudy press conferences. This insurrection and shame to our country was totally prefaced on these lies and further fostered by the by the BS objection to the certification of the votes yesterday by 120+ Republicans. Enjoy your time in the roost RepubliCON. They should all be removed from office. the President should be charged with sedition and fomenting a riot.

It makes me so sad to see people who feel as you do. You're just not right but I know you won't believe it. It's unfortunate you don't have a clue whatsoever. Good luck man!

He doesn't expect you to since you're one of the extremely vocal minorities on the outside that he referenced. We know all you care about is revenge for a man that we were right about all along. Maybe you and Growls can start an Extreme Right Redneck militia to guard Klan statues.

Ha!! The irony of your post is awesome!! Classic Republican.

Fact: the President is head of the Republican party.
Fact: The Republican elected congressmen and women are the elected leaders of their party.
Fact: Their actions in that capacity are the manifestation of the will of Republican voters.
Fact: There was not massive voter fraud. These "allegations" were disproved time and time again. Multiple lawyers who brought those suits are now facing potential sanctions for frivolous lawsuits.
Fact: despite no material voter fraud, these Republican leaders actively engaged in inflammatory disinformation campaigns to whip up their base instead of telling their supporters/voters the truth.
Fact: as part of this campaign they played up yesterday as the day for their supporters "make their stand" and object to the results of free and fair election with the goal of disenfranchising 150 million Americans.
Fact: on that day, the leader of the Republican party held a rally of manipulated Republican supporters to whip them up with the same lies and cast them upon the cradle of our democracy, ultimately engaging in insurrection.
Fact: after that attempted insurrection, nearly 150 Republicans still played this game and voted to object to the results of a free and fair election.

An objective fact finder can only surmise from these facts that the Republican party is an anti-democratic authoritarian existential threat to our democracy.

The Republican party is showing who it is through what its leaders say and do. That is how you identify something or someone: what they say and do.

You clearly will not hold your party leaders accountable for these awful misdeeds. Failing to do so is un-American. Country before party.

I mean, the RNC freaking applauded Trump on a call the day after he incited a riot on the nation's Capitol.

Is Don Jr wrong when he said that the repub party is the party of Trump--threatening to primary anyone who opposed them??

You knew what I was when you picked me up...

Yes, he was and is wrong. When the choices are between the devil and complete destruction, people often pick the devil.

This is an example of rationalizing Republican misdeeds we are now dealing with through fear based political messaging. This messaging is the bread and butter of the Republican Party and it is "disciples." By his own words, it is literally ok to get in bed with the devil than vote for the other party. As we all know, the fear is based upon another gigantic misinformation campaign claiming that if you vote a Democrat into office it is "complete destruction" of the Country.

We hear this every election. We heard it when Obama was elected. All the hyperbole about being a socialist or communist. In fact, in 8 years the country was never destroyed. The economy was prospering. We can argue the finer points of his results, but the premise from people like this was "total destruction." the reality is that this a delusional belief.

But the "Devi or complete destruction" mindset that Wilence prescribes is the belief system that has led us to this dark period. Clearly, if you hold this belief you can justify the worst acts of humanity. Those that amplify this belief system do great harm to us all. It is poison to democracy. It is Republicanism.

But we hear it from both sides every election. Fear is an attention grabber, makes people react. It's the same reason the CIA, NSA, FBI etc don't always tell the public about credible threats to the US because people would never leave their houses. Russia Collusion = fear, Biden and socialism = fear , the end of gender identification = fear.....lots of fear.

The amount of money these campaigns spend on coming up with the best possible way to slander their opponent is disturbing. Half of the US sits by awaiting help from the government when both parties spent billions on the 2020 election. For the life of me I can't understand why more people aren't outraged over that. Instead we all sit here deciding who is more self-righteous.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Trump, the one concerning aspect of his presidency is that the masses that don't believe in Government full stop have started show up in public. That's the interesting thing that keeps getting left out of these discussions where libs and pubs just beat on each other constantly. You have a growing number of Americans who don't want a government.

Most of these militias formed since 2008 are anti-government, not republican or democrat. Stark difference
