I would have normally said a selection of Risk parity ETF's for a certain percentage of your portfolio and the rest in cash to wait out a bad market but cash is getting crushed at -8% (if not more) and what is normally high volatility risk protected baskets are also getting pummeled. Not a great deal of safe haven out there and that will continue through August is my guess. The parity risk stuff can be good to stop substantial bleeding in comparison to individual stock strategies so worth a look.
Energy and materials while down now, have been the performers this year. If the green new deal passes, load up on green energy related assets. Govt is going to drop tons into private companies......follow goldman on that front.
I would let the carnage kill off the crap assets (like Carvana) that have really poor fundamentals and focus on the ones with solid P/E, EV/EBITDA......the retail market will fade out and the money will come back to solid fundamental stocks once the volatility stops and the world returns to sanity instead of emotion. (unless it never returns to sanity, in which case buy weapons)

run. Seriously. The people in charge are all incomprehensibly stupid and its going to get ugly. My biggest fear is their solution will directly or indirectly get us into a war. Theyre completely incapable of solving any of the problems theyve already created - and whats coming will be the fruition of a the idiocy of many prior “solutions”, so naturally they need to create a new distraction / problem they need to solve for us.
