If you have kids, and you aren’t doing both, you aren’t doing best by them.

There is no exact percentage science of what blend is necessary. But a blend is necessary depending upon the kid.

Constantly waving the Pom poms and posting on Facebook talking about how great Johnny is without ever physically and/or mentally and/or spiritually critiquing and enriching them is setting them up to fail.

And going full out Todd Marinovich dad where you treat your child as a thing is as equally terrible.

The vast majority of parents will positively reinforce their child and solution orient them with tools to improve on the field and in the classroom throughout their life and most importantly during the highs and lows. Which perversely is deemed a no no around these parts.

Shitty parents will constantly talk about how great their kid is when they need help. And Todd’s dad will have his son working drills after going 15-0, throwing 400 yards a game and tell him he isn’t good enough.

This fvckin msg board.

There are plenty of proper folks who support, cheer, go above and beyond to nourish this program positively. We wear the Paw half of our daily lives in some respect and probably more. We grinded in the classroom to have a Clemson diploma hanging in our home office. We travel great distances to see the Tigers play in Death Valley, Omaha, Santa Clara, Tokyo, Boston, and we’d be there in Mozamfvckinbique if the game was on.
We are fans, supporters, alums - cheerleaders.

Yet, during those travels or on a 80” flat screen or life in general, some of us are intelligent enough reflecting on decades of watching, participating, watching Nebraska/Ohio State/Rutgers/FSU, strategists in other disciplines and sport, you’d think some of us might provide some of that solution orientation ALONG THE WAY. It’s the way we are built - to give a shit in the good and bad times. Like proper parenting and in professional life. (Heck I’m still pissed on the Heupel onside kick. 1 second left and you try a DEAD BALL ONSIDE kick? Literally the only way Bama can gain possession and execute a Hail Mary. At least get the ball bouncing to make sure 1 tick goes off. )

We jest at Tiger Calls. That’s MOSTLY a cheerleading bunch. I’m happy for them. However, the democratization of communication has silenced legit voices. Take a look in the mirror when you silence legit voices when you know you’ve heard them.

Go ahead run of the mill trolls, Scoff away and belittle. You aren’t made the good and tough times. Maybe it’s time you give it a shot. This program is definitely not solution orienting itself to enrich and develop its best self.
