I've linked the 2010 Auburn Tigers who won the National Championship that year for a few reasons.
1. Our offense this year has "the potential" to be as dynamic as the one AU had that year. I think we have in DeShaun Watson what AU had in Cam Newton. Not comparing him to Cam the pro now mind you. Playmakers all around like AU did, check as well. One big ? mark would be the kicking game, FG's, KO's, Punting.
2. The 2010 AU defense ranked 53rd in the nation which had one big superstar in Nick Fairley who had an incredible 24 tackles for loss as a defensive lineman. I do not believe CU has that on this years team, but collectively you could argue this years Clemson defense is just as talented, if not moreso, than the one AU fielded.
I have no illusions of this team going undefeated and landing a spot in the playoff b/c I don't think it will, but using the above analysis you could easily make a case that it still has plenty of talent to win the ACC and find itself in one of the 4 "Big Bowl Games."
