I just want to preface this by saying CJ is my favorite Clemson football player of all time.
With that said, he's not above critique. After seeing how our backups performed in a pressure environment last night, it's safe to say our RB rotation was likely mismanaged this season. I've have not seen a major CFB in today's game not rotate their backs -- regardless of the talent drop off. You develop guys & manage risk at the same time. There's no good reason not to.
I sometimes wonder if Spiller is able to relate to kids who aren't supremely talented like he was. Sometimes elite guys just don't make the greatest coaches. I don't know...thats probably a discussion for another day. But I hope he self scouts himself this season and realizes it's in the best interest of the program to give yourself options....especially as the season progresses...and especially at the position he coaches. Options are a must because injuries are inevitable. Furthermore, his boss should recognize this and have a conversation with him about it.
