Not hardly... Remember when she was Trump's ambassador to the UN? Trump and company told her to say some (I forget what) and it didn't go over well. The Whitehouse tried to blame her by saying that she misunderstood what they wanted her to say. She told them they were full of it and she said EXACTLY what they told her to say and the White House backed down. She wasn't in that position long after that... but she didn't just cave to Trump the way most Republicans did...

Doesn't really matter as she won't get the nod.

She’s going to get the nod.

She’s going to get the nod.
She may get nod for the VP position but she won't beat Trump. Seems like all the pundits are in agreement as well so you're basically saying as a dem you're going to vote for trump :(

The same folks that dismissed our last 3 presidents say what now?

Obama, trump, and Biden were all underdogs pre-primary
The tell will be if she goes hard after Trump. If she plays footsie with him, we'll know what's up.

I don't think there is anything in her political career that supports her playing "footsie" with an opponent, especially one like Trump that she can destroy in an intelligent debate.

I posted this article about Haley from 2021 in another thread a few weeks ago. By all accounts, she is ultra-competitive and driven to be President. She's also carefully crafted her image and team for years anticipating her time to make this run. I believe she is a formidable opponent and hope that she can defeat Trump and Desantis.

That's the problem though... Intelligent debate won't make a bit of difference to a lot of Republicans. Not that there aren't a ton of really smart Republicans, but there are a ton that simply don't embrace facts and what's real. I'd point out the probably 30% of the Republican party that's absolutely loyal to Trump. You can give them facts and figures all day and it won't make a bit of difference.

That’s not exclusive to Republicans. There is a significant portion of the Democrat party that is immune to intelligent debate as well. There are hardcore leftists, single issue voters, handout seekers and racial groups that won’t be affected by a single reasonable word.

But the hardcore Trumpers like Growls aren’t going to change their minds. Even when faced with clear evidence that he cannot win the general election.

Agreed on the Dems not being reasonable for sure... Look at Defund the Police if you need any convincing. And I'm not talking about giving resources to others to HELP the police... That can at least be discussed... I'm talking about folks actually talking about disbanding police departments. How stupid can you be?

And you are SO right on the Trumpers. They HONESTLY believe that a President that NEVER had an approval rating of > 50% (foxnews poll) and was in the high 30s at the time of the 2020 election won that election in a landslide. If he were to not get the Republican nomination and ran as an independent, they would ABSOLUTELY believe that the election was rigged even if Trump was running in the 15% range as an independent

He's shifted the bar on that significantly since she made that statement. Events do change you know.
conservatives will not vote for a flip flopper. Only assholes like John Kerry do shit like that.

Lol. Since that comment, Trump has become 100% unelectable. After seeing the midterm results, and how "his" candidates faired in key battleground states, it's not mathematically possible for him to win. But there are simps who will continue to support him for some reason anyways.
he will run as an independant. it's all coming back around

They also believe that Trump will carry PA, AZ and GA despite Trump-supported Oz, Lake and Walker losing state-wide elections in those states just 3 months ago.

Or, they accept that he can’t win and support him anyways.

Either way, it’s truly bizarre.

You know, I used to think this myself, but I actually don't now. Full disclosure, I have a mixed (AT BEST) record of predicting what Trump will or won't do.

My reason is that by ANY objective measure, an independent simply can't win a Presidential election. Based on past history, no independent candidate has even gotten 20% of the vote.

Trump isn't stupid and IMHO, he's still the man to beat for the Republican nomination. Now I don't believe for a single minute that he would give one shit about the fact that him running an independent campaign would essentially hand the election to the Dems. Trump works for Trump... always has and always will... he's no more a Republican than Nancy Pelosi. So party loyalty means nothing to him in that direction (but it means the WORLD to him the other way). BUT he very much cares about winning and losing. And running an independent campaign means another loss.

If he doesn't win the Republican nomination, I expect him to accuse the Republicans and everyone else of cheating and doing a bigger version of what he did in Ga. Namely take his ball and go home, telling his supporters that there's no way the election will be fair.

I do not believe he'll be the nominee. If he is, who knows what the hell is going to happen.

It seems very likely that significant economic pain is coming our way soon. If Trump is the nominee and is smart (which he usually isn't) then he'll understand this upcoming election needs to be all about the current situation and the Biden economy. I just don't think that's possible for Trump though because in his demented world, everything needs to be about him. That's why, again, I'll be volunteering and doing everything I can to make sure Trump is NOT the nominee this time for the GOP. Everything people like me said in 2015 about a Trump candidacy came to pass ultimately. He is a vampire and a force for destruction in all things. We can do so much better. The GOP, for the first time in forever, actually has some good choices available who can do a good job as President.

She'll walk the tightrope about election "integrity" like everyone else.

I’ll vote for any republican in the primary over Trump. As of now, Haley’s definitely got my vote.

Based on the way she is placating trump in interviews, it is more likely that she is running at his request.

He knows having a woman on the ticket will help him win back female votes. And he knows that she will split votes with ron desanctimonious, while the MAGIDIOTS will faithfully vote for him. I think she has a deal to be his vp.

Yes, she is going to run for President because Trump told her too. Sure she is going to visit all these states and campaign tirelessly for months because Trump told her too. That is some Rachel Maddow level conspiracy theory right there.

if he's smart he runs as an independent and continues to fleece his 30% out of donations.

Yea I don’t think she has any plans to be Trump’s Vp.

Good point. I forgot about the money he'd make from donations. He'll get a bunch of cash from the Republican nomination race for sure, but if he doesn't win, there's big money to be made from running as an independent. If there's one thing Trump LOVES more than winning, it's making a buck.

Easy there, simple one. People do that shit all the time. Would be a perfect match for her since trump could only serve 4 more years, and she has basically zero shot at winning this time around. She will effectively cancel out desanctimonious though.

So pave the way for an easy general election win for the dems over trump.
