Sorry, this is ridiculous. It speaks to the fear on the right that if they learn the truth, they will feel shame or be converted. The answer to uncomfortable subjects is not to pretend they don't exist and White conservative fear is no reason to hide the truth.they don't exist. ot seeing a problem with that Bill at all.
CRT and/or 1619 Project … in any capacity … have no place in K-12 schools. If a college student wants to sign up for a offered elective class at their University, go ahead.
this bill should upset no one, because according to the Left CRT is not being taught in schools
also … gender/queer books, such as lawn boy or any book that includes explicit illustrations have no place in a school library.
if a parent has a issue with this, they can send their kid to a private school OR they can move. If a teacher has a problem with this … they can do the same.
banning books because you dont like what they're teaching from them? yikes!not seeing a problem with that Bill at all.

My man … you and I agree, “truth” should be taught. CRT is not truth, has very little do to with truth, fact, the empirical, history AND everything to do with theory … the theory that all “power structures” should be viewed through the lens of race. That all white people are racist and all are oppressors and all minority people are oppressed. It’s a interesting topic frankly, and one that I have read before …. when it was called Critical Theory at the Frankfurt School in pre-WW2 Germany. Frankfurt School being made up of devout Marxists, who were chased out of Germany by the Nazis.Sorry, this is ridiculous. It speaks to the fear on the right that if they learn the truth, they will feel shame or be converted. The answer to uncomfortable subjects is not to pretend they don't exist and White conservative fear is no reason to hide the truth.
My family was Republican but that was a major reason why I broke ranks because of how ridiculously narrow minded they were. Unbelievable that all these years later we're going ass backwards and attempting to whitewash any subject that isn't white Christian friendly.
Very well said and totally true and correct. My man … you and I agree, “truth” should be taught. CRT is not truth, has very little do to with truth, fact, the empirical, history AND everything to do with theory … the theory that all “power structures” should be viewed through the lens of race. BONUS POINTS: Can anyone tell me where these devout Marxists fled to??? If you guess The US you would be correct.
FUN FACT: The Nazi’s adapted Critical Theory and used it to convince the German public that the Jews were the oppressors, the bourgeoisie, and to justify the Holocaust
^that is the TRUTH of Critical Race Theory
The 1619 Project is just utter trivial scrawled on paper by a deranged bigot. Show me acts of racism, and I will join you in protest. But expect me to believe that the US was founded as a racist country? That we are currently a racist country? That our “systems” are systematically racist? NOPE … I stopped believing in the “boogie man” a long time ago.
Now we’re/are their racists in our country? Did the US Government enact some racist laws? Yes absolutely!!!! Democrats swore by Plessey vs Ferguson for decades …. But every time the US has identified that something wasn’t right, we have fixed it.
That is why our Constitution is written the way it is. It’s not written in the past tense … it doesn’t “we FORMED a perfect Union”, it says “in order TO FORM a more perfect Union”. It’s active, it’s ongoing, it’s not finished
lastly, I never said “ban” or “burn” books … they just don’t belong K-12. Both are concepts for more mature minds …
Regarding Lawn Boy, I would hope that we all could agree that pornography has no place in a school library ….
You say you stopped believing in the boogie man a long time ago but I call bullshit because the fear of CRT IS a trumped up boogie man meant to stir up the culture war. Your side keeps trying with divisive phrases such as "political correctness", "woke" and "cancel culture". But those just didn't have quite the intended impact, but then came CRT - the perfect villain! This little taught "theory" was the dream political weapon the right had been desperately searching for, concocted by a 36 year old conservative who seized on the scare term to get himself a spot on the Tucker Carlson show. From there it spread like wildfire and fooled middle class whites into believing that the teaching community was widely and wantonly spreading a false theory to create a deep sense of guilt among whites. It's such extreme bullshit but sadly it worked and played a large part in the Glenn Youngkin election, the new DeSantis of the mid-Atlantic.My man … you and I agree, “truth” should be taught. Tell us why CRT should be taught in US public schools then? You say you stopped believing in the boogie man a long time ago but I call bullshit because the fear of CRT IS a trumped up boogie man meant to stir up the culture war. Now we're at a place where it's fine to teach white history going back thousands of years but black history can only be taught going back to the 1980s. Students will later learn that they were lied to and if like me, resent the institutions that tried to fool them. Sorry, the truth aint always pretty but that doesn't mean it should be suppressed to protect Christian whites and influence political outcomes.
That's the point - IT ISN'T! The right has now seized on this scare word and have bastardized it to mean anything that makes white people feel uncomfortable. Most of the yahoos out there screaming about it don't even know what it means but they mAd aS hElL! Now red state governers are trying to impose draconian measures like asking students to film their professors and turn them in on tip lines if they say anything that makes them feel bad. My cousin is a Sociology professor in Virginia and she is terrified of losing her job for fear of saying something that would offend the White Christian community. It's ridiculous that she has to pass a litmus test that Jerry Falwell would approve of instead of just teaching the truth.Tell us why CRT should be taught in US public schools then?

I know exactly what it is. I’ve laid it out in my previous posts. Marxist propagandaThat's the point - IT ISN'T! I've also laid out the answers to your questions with my previous posts.I know exactly what it is. I’ve laid it out in my previous posts. Marxist propaganda
and I must ask the obvious, if it isn’t being taught in public schools, then why the opposition to such laws??? The laws shouldn’t matter then
and … if your cousin is dividing up her class along racial lines and putting them against each other …. She should be fired …
I've also laid out the answers to your questions with my previous posts.
The right has now bastardized the term CRT to mean ANY teachings that expose the racism of the past.
Because of this, if my cousin touches on any subjects regarding diversity, equity and inclusion, she has a bullseye on her forehead for simply teaching about things that would normally be taught in a Sociology class!
She isn't dividing the class along racial lines but white conservatives ARE by trying to impose their whitewashed version of history like they are the ONLY people that matter. I seriously can't even believe we're having this conversation in 2022. Are we resurrecting the Moral Majority next
That is one super broad stroke, sweeping statement calling all conservatives narrow minded and then of course making it about white people's fear. You get that a statement like that sort of indicates that you're the one being a bit narrow minded, right?Sorry, this is ridiculous. It speaks to the fear on the right that if they learn the truth, they will feel shame or be converted. The answer to uncomfortable subjects is not to pretend they don't exist and White conservative fear is no reason to hide the truth.

I didn't say all conservatives are narrow minded but they certainly cornered the market on it historically. The party of freedom has no problem with sticking their nose into every social issue and crafting policies that disenfranchise anyone they see as an "other". This backfired on them in the past and drove a generation of people away from the Republican party. It looked like they learned their lesson and adapted their messaging to the changing times but now we've come full circle again. They're crafting policies that allow people to sue anyone involved in the "legal" abortion arena, tip lines are being set up to allow people to report any teachers that discuss racism or sexual orientation, including the ridiculous "Don't Say Gay" bill in Florida that allows citizens to sue teachers if they discuss it. They're even advocating recording teachers to monitor their lessons - if this keeps up you're going to have a severe teacher shortage because they're sick and tired of the meddling. That is one super broad stroke, sweeping statement calling all conservatives narrow minded and then of course making it about white people's fear. The issue here isn't about whether or not a child will convert or feel shame, it's simply about it not being the schools job to teach gender or race related curriculum. That sits with parents all day everyday. There are plenty of non-white people standing up against this simply because they don't believe in it. It's not just us racist white folk that seem to show up on CNN at school boards hearings.
I'll teach my children not to be racist and I'll teach my children to be accepting of gender choice, religious affiliation etc. I need their teachers to ensure they are proficient at reading, writing, math, science and history. The education system is overreaching here.
begin burning books. After all the Trump should be on twitter talk i must say this seems out of place.
again, it's not a teachers job to teach my kid what is racism and what isn't.....nor is it a teachers job to teach my kid sexual orientation......that's it in a nutshell, I said what I said.I didn't say all conservatives are narrow minded but they certainly cornered the market on it historically. The party of freedom has no problem with sticking their nose into every social issue and crafting policies that disenfranchise anyone they see as an "other". But just to cut to the chase - this is mostly driven by the need to create fear and angst among middle class whites in order to drive them to the polls. Conservatives are afraid that if their children are exposed to the truth, they might find empathy with other groups and **gasp** ,become a Democrat. That's it in a nutshell. I said what I said.
WTF do you mean by teach them what it is? It already IS so does that mean they can't learn about the Holocaust or the Civil War? Both of those historical events were predicated on racism but your kids are such sheltered snowflakes that hearing the truth would somehow harm them?again, it's not a teachers job to teach my kid what is racism and what isn't.....nor is it a teachers job to teach my kid sexual orientation......that's it in a nutshell, I said what I said.
Now you're calling my kids names? Sweet level of maturity bro. A grown man and all......WTF do you mean by teach them what it is? It already IS so does that mean they can't learn about the Holocaust or the Civil War? Both of those historical events were predicated on racism but your kids are such sheltered snowflakes that hearing the truth would somehow harm them?
If racism or sexual orientation are off limits then I propose that Trumpism should be too. I can assure you that LPD(Legitimate Political Discourse) is much more harmful than CRT. I think I'll start a movement to prevent teachers from speaking about Trump or Trumpism since it's such a dark, vile and divisive subject and it makes liberals uncomfortable. I propose filming teachers to make sure they don't utter his name and if they do they can be sued for $10,000. If an Antifa or BLM parent turns them in they should get punitive damages since they will experience more harm.
Fair is fair!
You've put some words in my mouth there but I'll say once again - you are towing the hysterical, bullshit narrative that this obscure, rarely taught "theory" is a threat to your children. This was a FAKE controversy to scare you and drive you to the polls ...over something that ISN'T happening! Now you're calling my kids names? Sweet level of maturity bro. A grown man and all......
You're the same guy that doesn't want religion in schools but wants CRT and gender studies in schools. Telling kids why the civil war was awful and how Hitler slaughtered an entire religious base isn't the same thing as telling a bunch of children they are privileged because they are white. One is called history the other is called racial bias and divide, not to mention counters the whole point of teaching the two moments in time you mention. The proof of such curriculum has been exposed countless times but you just suggest it's right wing media because you're so based you're basically illiterate to any facts that don't boost your narrative.
The only thing my kids learned about Trump in school was that they shouldn't vote for him based on the political views of a few teachers. So instead of my kids learning how government works, why we have two parties, the founding fathers etc......they learned that Christopher Columbus killed native americans and that they shouldn't vote for Trump because he's going to build a wall.
So the reality here is you're already getting your way. You feel better now?
Sounds like you'd be more comfortable in a socialist nation.......just my opinion though. You've put some words in my mouth there but I'll say once again - you are towing the hysterical, bullshit narrative that this obscure, rarely taught "theory" is a threat to your children. This was a FAKE controversy to scare you and drive you to the polls ...over something that ISN'T happening!
It's bad enough that teachers are leaving the profession in droves while struggling to navigate COVID but now you want to monitor and intimidate them over things that you imagine. You'll be lucky to have any teachers at all if this keeps up.
Sounds like your kid's teachers deserve a bonus though ha.
So speaking the truth about the fear mongering you ascribe to because a political hack seized on this non-issue makes me a Socialist? LOLSounds like you'd be more comfortable in a socialist nation.......just my opinion though.
You sit on here and accuse people of being "deep state" and "Q" but dude, you don't sound too far off that level of crazy to me. You also admit it's being taught when you say "rarely taught" so you've managed to contradict yourself.
Not a single teacher has left our school system, outside of retirement and the superintendent told us they see a record number of applications each year. Teachers might be leaving economically challenged school systems for better options but they aren't leaving the industry.
You know, you're right.......maybe the answer instead of the Unions contributing millions of dollars to the DNC each year, they ought to profit share with their union members. Just solved that bonus problem for you
You are responding to a person who believes the election was also rigged and stolen. Anything factual or filled with common sense will go right past him/her while they grab onto “how dare you name call” to strike some sense of perceived high ground. You've put some words in my mouth there but I'll say once again - you are towing the hysterical, bullshit narrative that this obscure, rarely taught "theory" is a threat to your children. Sadly, they don't know what they don't know since they only swallow the narratives fed to them in the right wing eco-sytem. Lies and stories supporting liars is all they see so they believe it's all real. You are responding to a person who believes the election was also rigged and stolen. CRT is dangerous but systematic racism through our country’s history is a fairytale in their minds.
White fragility has done a number on a lot of people.
Yeah, I never said the election was stolen or rigged and he called my 5, 8 and 11 year old daughters snowflakes. Those are actual facts......You are responding to a person who believes the election was also rigged and stolen. Anything factual or filled with common sense will go right past him/her while they grab onto “how dare you name call” to strike some sense of perceived high ground.

You really do sound radicalized.......ya'll give Tiger Growls a ton of sh*t on here but the only difference between you both is you aren't sending Gateway pundit articles.Sadly, they don't know what they don't know since they only swallow the narratives fed to them in the right wing eco-sytem. Lies and stories supporting liars is all they see so they believe it's all real.
So wait, asking if your kids are "such sheltered snowflakes that they can't learn the truth" is the same thing as calling them that?? Your answer would have to be yes, I don't want them to know the truth for that question to be considered name calling. Holy sh*tYeah, I never said the election was stolen or rigged and he called my 5, 8 and 11 year old daughters snowflakes. Those are actual facts......
Some of ya'll really need to spend more time outside of the country to actually see what systemic racism is. It hasn't been a factor in the states in quite some time.
White fragility? haha......get a grip.
You're just one Natty Light away from being Growls my dude. You really do sound radicalized.......ya'll give Tiger Growls a ton of sh*t on here but the only difference between you both is you aren't sending Gateway pundit articles.
Best is not the standard for you. Good to know.Yeah, I never said the election was stolen or rigged and he called my 5, 8 and 11 year old daughters snowflakes. Those are actual facts......

Do you have kids? If your answer is no, then how the f*ck can you have an opinion? You don't get to have one unless you have kids.So wait, asking if your kids are "such sheltered snowflakes that they can't learn the truth" is the same thing as calling them that?? Your answer would have to be yes, I don't want them to know the truth for that question to be considered name calling. Holy sh*t
You clearly haven't been exec level in a large public company, otherwise I think you'd find it quite hard to suggest what you're suggesting. Hiring practices for several years have been channeled towards everyone but white males.Best is not the standard for you. Good to know.
When did systemic racism end in the US?
Racism is a fact, err a truth, that you don't want them to know about. I'm not trying to say what they should or shouldn't learn. My entire reason for joining this thread is because you and others in this thread support the monitoring, censoring and intimidation of teachers over some bullsh*t that's not even real.Do you have kids? If your answer is no, then how the f*ck can you have an opinion? You don't get to have one unless you have kids.
Learn what truth? Who's truth? You don't get to decide what my kids learn and you sure don't get to decide what's the actual truth. I hate to tell you this, but facts are seriously hard to find these days.......what you spout on here isn't always facts, it's opinion based.
Nah, I don't drink beer these days. You're just one Natty Light away from being Growls my dude.
You think hiring practices changing in the last few years has completely ended systemic racism? You clearly haven't been exec level in a large public company, otherwise I think you'd find it quite hard to suggest what you're suggesting. Hiring practices for several years have been channeled towards everyone but white males.
As a law abiding, tax paying citizen, I do and will continue to have an opinion on what schools are teaching and what laws prohibit certain teachings. I don't need to have a kid for that nor does anyone else.Do you have kids? If your answer is no, then how the f*ck can you have an opinion? You don't get to have one unless you have kids.

I know youre not supposed to answer a question with a question, but I think its important to know this. How do you define "systemic racism"? I believe its fair to say that Systemic and Institutional racism are the same thingBest is not the standard for you. Good to know.
When did systemic racism end in the US?
Just because racism exists in the world doesn't mean these kids being taught "white guilt" are racist. There is a difference between talking about slavery, why the civil war happened and why you treat everyone as equals vs telling white children to feel guilty about something that happened when their great great great grandparents were children. There are many ways to teach empathy ........unless you just mean racial empathy.Racism is a fact, err a truth, that you don't want them to know about. I'm not trying to say what they should or shouldn't learn. My entire reason for joining this thread is because you and others in this thread support the monitoring, censoring and intimidation of teachers over some bullsh*t that's not even real.
My point is that this is just a subversive way of keeping them from having empathy with others for fear they might not buy into your politics. I don't give a sh*t what their teachers teach - I care about the pressure you want put on teachers to teach what you believe ONLY
... this is just side commentary ... not really related to the thread ... but ... if you dont have kids, you dont understand. As a law abiding, tax paying citizen, I do and will continue to have an opinion on what schools are teaching and what laws prohibit certain teachings. I don't need to have a kid for that nor does anyone else.
Your logic is so simplistic and lacks further thought.
