Do you know anything about the cost of real estate in SF? Let's just say there is no way in hell you could afford to live there. If a structure housing a public toilet in your shit town was being built for $100K, it would be about the same.

There's more to this than you make it sound. It's a public bathroom facility in an expensive part of San Fran that will require permitting, hook up to utilities and ongoing maintenance, etc.... It's also just an estimate. Still a large cost but to make it sound like it's just a single toilet is disingenuous.

Well that's because the way it's run is filled to the brim with idiocy, over-regulation, corruption and incompetence. I agree we should be. I'm all for it. It shouldn't be necessary for a governor to fly illegal immigrants to another state at any cost. That situation at least was for a purpose. I'd like to see why it cost so much to do or if it really did cost that much. Spending a million to save billions is at least somewhat defensible. Spending $1.7m so people can take a dump on a single toilet just isn't.
