I’ve been on this site (and predecessor) since Bowden was first named head coach.

Lots of news re Clemson football over those years but one I always wanted to ask….

At one point, late 90s or early ‘00s, I think we were fairly close to hiring Woody Widenhofer as DC—the DC of the Pittsburgh Steelers during that 4 Superbowl win “Steel Curtain” run?

I think I remember you reporting we were close?

Admittedly, I could have some of the details wrong, but, how close were we to getting him?
