Cuomo walking it back?

Not sure I follow his logic completely
If infected those younger people likely still would have infected the older people it they are home 12 hours instead of 24. Also would have infected more people while out who would have gone home and infected their families

I actually think it is great as well as refreshing. A politician saying we are working on a solution, and I may not always be right!!! How many politicians today admit they are not perfect?? Or do they prefer to just try and "spin facts" to fit their narrative.

I don’t think we need a news report to understand Cuomo. Just watch him talk live on television.
That's what I've been saying about Trump. Everything you need to know about him is open for the public through his tweets, public speaking engagements (aka a Trump rally), brief live interviews in front of the helicopters, and these daily briefings on Covid-19. He is really only best understood when he is not reading a prepared speech although he often strays away from the script much to the dismay of his team. No need for fake news. It's all there for all to see and hear.

It’s amazing how he can take questions for 2 straight hours and just answer off the cuff. Haven’t seen another world leader be able to do that. Our previous POTUS, hardly did live press conferences and struggled when not reading off a teleprompter. Sometimes even when reading off the prompter. Ditto George Bush.

Is there anything more comically annoying than when someone refuses to believe an article that is full of direct quotes simply because it came from Fox News?

I mean I get it, you don’t agree with the editorial content produced by people like Tucker Carlson. This is America, and that is your priority. However, the article link above is literally direct quotes from the governor. In addition, if you’re such a tinfoil hat wearing liberal conspiracy theorist that you won’t even except direct quotes when reported by Fox News, in this specific instance, those quotes were also televised live by virtually every television media outlet in the country.

Yet, none of that is good enough to stop the litany of ridiculous conspiracy theory comments that are constantly posted on this board about Fox News.

In this day and time, I look upon our Politicos as petulant children that need they collective asses busted. Unless promises were kept, they shouldn't be reelected.
Then we should be re-electing Trump immediately!

Oh the man can lie for hours on end. He is gifted that way.

It goes the same for the ridiculous conspiracy comments I read about CNN on this board.

Trump is just so gifted. Just ask him.

I mean I get that, but CNN and MSNBC are in a class by themselves since Roger Ailes got run out of Fox News.

I know facts can be inconvenient at times, but just since 01/01/2018, Fox News has done all of the Following:

1) First National News Network to Call the 2018 House Elections for the Democrats;

2) Employed a Chief Legal Analyst (Judge Napalatono) who was an ardent Pro-Impeachment advocate;

3) Fired Trish Regan for not taking COVID-19 seriously enough and making ill-Advised comments; and

4) Consistently, and I do mean CONSISTENTLY, produced poll after poll that are clearly based on more heavily democratic samples than any other national pollster.

All that is absolutely true, but they also consistently downplayed the effects of this virus and actively encouraged people to keep traveling Against what the experts were saying for weeks if not months. They have also consistently refused to call Trump out when he starts saying falsehoods and exaggerations about what is actually going on. You have to acknowledge all of that too when critiquing Fox News.

And they employ Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham.

The thread title is as disingenuous as the article headline. The article itself is fine and presents his quotes in a mostly unbiased way. Cuomo talks a lot, similar to Trump. Here he is merely looking backwards and musing on whether a full shut down was the best strategy. He is simply thinking out loud. He presents no facts to support the argument and never states that is should have been handled differently. He is merely stating that the complete shut down is having a significant economic impact and there may have been some negatives like young and old quarantining together.

Hindsight is 20/20, and we all learn from our experiences, whether we are individuals, cities, States, or Nations. At the end of the article he makes the point that we are finally nearing the point where we will be able to test for people with antibodies and can plausibly get those people who are, hopefully, now immune back to work. Assuming that proves out, it is obviously going to be our best strategy to balance saving lives with minimizing the economic impact.

but the fact of the matter is we were, and to a lesser degree still are, flying blind without testing data. Decisions had to be made to save lives and they had to be made in the dark(without testing data). So, of course the right call is to be conservative and do what it takes to save as many lives as possible. Hopefully as we gain better visibility via testing we can make more surgical and precise decisions.

since you called me out, I was just merely pointing out that he is stepping back and saying maybe it wasn’t the best move. Nothing wrong with that. As someone previously said, at least he’s admitting he maybe made a mistake. Most people would have tried to spin it in the favor. Don’t know much about him but I can applaud that move.

How are they any different/worse than Don Lemon, Rachel Maddow, and the rest of those lunatics on CNN and MSNBC?

Ya Notice we ain’t heard much about Scary Russia lately, player?
Don Lemon is not over the top like Hannity and Ingraham who simply spew hate filled rhetoric towards anyone with a different view. Maddow is way too far to the left for me.

Well said. There is no vaccine for liberalism. They live in the matrix.

He may be right, but he had to act with limited information. So he did the best he could with the info he had. I'm not gonna armchair QB it.
