DE (8)
Parker, Heldt, Lawson, Denhoff, Mayo, Watford, Patterson, Dixon (TE converted)

I really like our 2 starters and feel we have solid experienced depth in Lawson and Denhoff. Lawson is turning into a 3rd starter IMO. I will be interested to see what we have got with Watford and Mayo. Those guys are hopefully up to the task of playing some good minutes this year and stepping into major roles next year.

DT (9)
Woods, Capehart, Green, Adams, Story, Williams-Lee, Burley, Brown-Shuler, Thompson

This is a REALLY good group of DT's. I am excited to see what this group does this year. Hoping we can get Burley and Brown-Shuler playing a bunch of quality minutes along with Adams and filling in big roles next year. Green was a really solid player last year and he should have a great season with a ton of minutes. Not sure what we have in Story or Thompson. Those guys are both tweener bodies that were DE/DT's. Hoping they can get after the offseason workouts and come ready to play some minutes this year.

LB (9)
Brown, W. Woodaz, Alexander, J. Anderson, Crayton, McCloud, L. Anderson, D. Woodaz, Kubah-Taylor

Last year Goodwin was a horrible LB coach and Defensive coordinator. Our LB's had no idea what they were doing, and we had some really good ones. It hurt the rush and pass defense all season along with 3rd and 4th down defense. With both Allen and Boulware in their ear this year, these guys will see massive improvement and be much better prepared week in and week out. You should finally see how good Brown can be with coaching and scheme. Woodaz will bounce back to greatness this season, and I think Alexander will be a beast and utilized in different ways. We should have 5 to 6 LB's we can play on the field this year.

S (10)
Barnes, Griffin, Hanafin, Venables, Billings, Dixon, Jones, Kenan, Webb, Wilkinson

These guys had all digressed last year in Goodwins system, same as the LB's. That will change this year. I expect these guys to combine experience/talent and better scheme to have a much improved years across the board. Hanafin will be a bright spot. R. Jones will play some serious minutes and come along way. Barnes and Griffin will put together some really solid seasons. Both have had really good moments in their careers so far to go along with poor one's last season. That should change with the new DC. We never really hear much about Billing/Dixon/ or Webb. Those guys were all highly recruited safeties, so hoping they can take a huge leap and play some solid minutes for us this year.

CB (7)
Hampton, Terrell, Lukus, Lewis, Gipson, Strozier, Oliver

I really like our starters, and we have some experience behind them in Lewis and Lukus, but wow this group needs some serious talent influx in this upcoming class/transfer portal. We need Barclay's teammate in a big way. I expect Hampton and Terrell to both evolve into lockdown type corners this season. We are going to need Gipson to step up and take over that 3rd or 4th CB position. I just haven't been sold on Lukus. He hasn't lived up to his billing, but he has been hurt forever. Lewis has done a solid job when not injured. Oliver comes back off of injury but not expecting much out of him. This group really needs more bodies and talent in a big way.
