DeSantis wins over Disney

Meanwhile The Acolyte has opened to a 36% audience Rotten Tomato score. Did you know that R2D2 was a lesbian? Ya …. that’s modern LucasFilms/Star Wars for ya ….

Luckily. After Acolyte, Kennedy has no further creative control … time for Filoni to retcon all the damage that Berkley C* did.
Amen. It's ridiculous how they have done incredible damage to Star Wars and Marvel with the woke political crap.

This will be fun.

What do you think this article means?

The premiere of new Star Wars content crushed it? I’m shocked …stunned … absolutely floored.

This is a fun and interesting line from the article:

“Variety critic Alison Herman likens “The Acolyte” to “Andor” and “The Last Jedi” for its “willingness to put its own spin on hallowed lore.”

I’d love to ask Mrs. Herman what lore did Andor put a “spin” on.

It's pretty obviously getting review bombed, which is SOP for Disney works these days. The majority of the half star reviews on RT are AI generated from accounts created day-of. First two episodes were interesting and i'm going to keep watching it, but it's hard to determine how good it'll be after less than an hour of television.

Watchmen, The Boys, and Last of Us are just a few shows that were/are fantastic that all got review bombed early on.

I would wager the spin she mentions is about the "founding" of the rebellion and the whole Luthen character.

Specifically what did you find “interesting” about the premiere?

Full disclosure, I didn’t hate it … but I found it to be predictable, vanilla, and shallow. Only “interesting” thing to me was that

they killed off Carrie Anne Moss’s character in the first 5 mins of the show and she was essentially the headliner of the show …

Overall, Disney’s handling of Lucasfilm (specifically Kennedy’s leadership in creative) has been an unmitigated failure and the “review bombing” (AI or not) is justified. Which is why Kennedy has had her creative responsibilities removed. Her role now at LucasFilm will essentially be a glorified check signer.

after Heyland’s comments this past week, and what is rumored to be in episode 3 … the show will tank.

Honestly, it was mainly just because it's jedi lore stuff. I played KOTOR as a kid and this somewhat reminds me of that. I mainly just want more pre-Order 66 Jedi stuff because I find it interesting. I'd kill for a Starkiller based show, because Force Unleashed is an amazing game with fantastic storytelling.

Agreed with the CAM stuff, and agreed with Kennedy. I really want more Filoni material since he does such an incredible job with storytelling and sticking to universe-accurate themes.

It also could just be nostalgic shit like how i forced myself to enjoy Rings of Power despite it being absolute ass.

Through 4 so far and it's probably the 2nd worst of the SW shows, second only to BoBF's awfulness. I was hoping for more entertaining fights like the CAM one in the opener, but it's been lacking.

I just dont understand Disney’s/LucasFilms/Kennedys strategy here …

I mean … canon breaks aside … it’s just a bad show. Everything about it is just bad ……….

showcasing the Jedi Order hubris is interesting, I suppose …… I mean it did directly lead to their fall, but everything is just so bad … bad writing, bad dialogue and bad acting …. just bad.

It’s like Disney purposefully wants Star Wars to fail. I don’t understand that …

and … chalking it up to be just derps on the Internet trolling and review bombing is just lazy. House of Dragons, whose cast is dominated by a woman and a non-binary person and there is diversity EVERYWHERE is killing it in both the critic and audience scores.
