This comes from our correspondent, Zach Hanby.
"It's hard to win on the road, especially in this environment. Louisville is a great team, a great program and they have great athletes. It really doesn't matter how I play as long as we get the W and that's what we did tonight."
Your thoughts on Wayne Gallman, his control and his production in the running game:
"He did a great job, he ran hard. Before the game I told him it was his time to shine and that's exactly what he did. It kind of balanced out the offense, the run and pass game. The offensive line did a great job of opening up holes and creating a new line of scrimmage. And he followed them and ran hard."
What did you see on the touchdown to Hunter Renfrow?
"I just saw cover-2 and Hunter ran a great route to be there. I just threw it in, he made a great catch and ran it in for the touchdown."
Did you know you were about to get hit on that play?
"No. My eyes were downfield. I felt the pressure but I got rid of it in time and he made a great catch."
Talk about what it means early to get a win on the road.
"It's great, especially in this conference. It's hard to win on the road. It's hard to win, period. It's Thursday night and they're hyped up here. We were both undefeated in the ACC. We had some mistakes and we're going to fix them. But it was great to come out with the W."
Do you think the defense has now exceeded expectations?
"We knew in the off-season from camp that the defense would be tough. Coach Venables does a great job of preparing those guys."
Were you more hyped up tonight, more than usual?
"I guess you could say that. I've been waiting for this moment my whole career. It was a blessing to be out here in this environment."
What about the interceptions?
"Those guys made some good plays. Interceptions are going to happen. It's part of the game. People are going to make plays on us and we're going to make plays on them. They don't discourage me. I'll just learn from it."
What do you think you found out about yourselves tonight?
"We have mental toughness. It was good to overcome some things tonight and keep pushing forward. We want to build on this win and keep pushing forward."
