downtown G'ville question

Is there a pedestrian bridge that crosses the river, linking Hampton Inn (Riverplace) with Peace Center area of downtown, or must I walk with traffic on S. Main or River St to get across?

Has anyone ever stayed at Pettigru B&B? Safe to walk from Peace Center to Pettigru at night?

Does anyone have other suggestions for a place to rest my head after a concert?
