Starting to do research on potential breeders for a puppy.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to decide between the two? We are a growing family with a 1 year old daughter. We have lots of room to run on our farm, an acre fenced in back yard. I will mainly take them dove/duck hunting, and the occasional wounded deer track. We go to the lake/beach a lot so want a swimmer. I want one that will have enough drive to hunt but also have an “off switch” during family time. (I know this is a perfect world.)
I’m leaning towards a Boykin as I’ve heard they have a little less energy than an ECS and like water more but not decided.
I know some good ECS breeders, but don’t really know any Boykin breeders. I’m in no hurry as I don’t necessarily want to get a puppy from somewhere that doesn’t have a decent length wait list. If you know of any that are legitimate reputable breeders, please share.
