EZ and Redshirt

Maybe this has been discussed but seeking some clarity on Eziomume. I know that he saw some action against NCSU, APP, CITADEL, and I didn’t see it but it was referenced that he got in the SMU game. Are we trying to protect redshirt? I am curious as to whether postseason counts against the games played?
