We were at a soccer tournament in Potomac, MD over Memorial Day. One of the clubs there was of course the host club, Potomac Soccer Association. Several of our teams matched up against theirs. My son plays U11 (he is 10, proud Papa), but our U12 team played the U12 PSA team. It was only 85 degrees that weekend, but not a cloud in the sky. There was a kid on the PSA U12 team out ON THE FIELD in a mask. I couldnt believe it .....
The one thing about the masks is that it allows you to spot the idiots from afar.
I said to buddy of mine (his son plays on our U10 team), that the kids parents shouldve been arrested for child abuse.
It wasnt too terribly hot, and there was a nice breeze, but .... it was hot enough where playing with a diaper on your face posed a risk.
Plus .... the kid was constantly pulling at his mask, and adjusting it. It was clearly a HUGE distraction to him which served no purpose.
You have no idea what that kid's personal situation is. Maybe he just had covid and was wearing the mask as a precaution for your kid?
Try to be less of a dick in the future.
He could also have an auto-immune disease. Some people are so quick to be judgmental when they know nothing about the people they slam...and let's not kid ourselves, it was a political punch...

when I see stuff like this posted I envision an overweight white guy on his filthy cloth couch, GED "diploma" hanging on the wood paneled wall next to him, case of warm mountain dew on the floor, slim jim in hand, and so disappointed in his life he lashes out about things that happened in the past so he can blame someone else for his shortcomings. The mask does absolutely nothing to prevent the spread of covid. Its only purpose is to let other people know you are an idiot.

Youre right, the kid couldve had a auto immune disease and was so fragile that he had to wear a mask .... outside. His parents were so concerned about his safety they elected to enroll him in club soccer and attend one of the largest youth tournaments on the east coast, that is attended by thousands of players from all across the country and Canada.
That makes sense ....

I used to work with a guy whose son had cystic fibrosis, and there were times he had to wear a mask everywhere, without exception.
And at the end of the day, even if the kid is wearing a mask because his mother is a fruitcake, who...fvcking...cares? I just can't fathom sitting in the bleachers at a children's soccer game and thinking things like that.
This was Memorial Day weekend ... well before the air quality issues due to the Canadian forest fires.
and ya ... sure ... ok ... I dont know the kids story ... I dont make it common practice to approach kids I see in a mask to ask "Hey, soooooooo do you have a auto-immune disorder or are your parents just narcistic f* heads?"

Why would anyone ask a kid that? Seems like a mature adult would, you know, not even have an opinion on what a 9 year old is wearing on his face at all.

I did neither of those things ...
- I agreed that the insults were vile, BUT that if the left wasnt insistent on forcing biological girls/women to compete against biological boys/men in women's sport's (where they have no business being), then Grandpa wouldnt have lost his shit.
- I didnt mock the kid .... I unapologetically mocked his parents, with a single comment to a buddy and a scoff. Kid was actually really good, of course ... all the kids at that tournament were good. Its just the level of competition we play against. Gotta wonder how much better he wouldve been if he wasnt distracted by the mask on his face.
My wife had an operation that I took her to. I had flu symptoms at the time, so I wore a mask when I was talking to the nurses and doctor. I didn't have to do that, but I figured it was the right thing to do. I'm glad to have read your thoughts on the matter and now I know I was just insulting everyone. Thanks.

absolutely NOT, there is a OCEAN of difference between wearing a mask at what I can only assume was a hospital or a out-patient facility and wearing a mask outside on a soccer field.
My only questions would be .... why did you only wear the mask talking to the doctors and nurses? Did you wear your mask when you drove your wife to her operation? Did you wear a mask in your house? Did you isolate yourself ???? Clearly you didnt if you drove your wife to her operation and spoke doctors and nurses .... did you disclose that you were experiencing flu like symptoms???? did your wife disclose that someone in her household was experiencing flu like/COVID like symptoms during checkin? Im assuming NO .... since she had her operation and spoke to doctors.

wearing a mask, in a Hospital, especially in the OR was wise ...mandated .... well well well well before COVID.
edit: BUT I would like to know ... did your wife disclose that someone in her household was currently experiencing flu/COVID like symptoms when she checked in for her surgery? I know when my Dad went in last week for his prostate surgery, he was asked that question .... I have to assume your wife was as well, and since she had the surgery I can only assume she lied.
edit 2: well ... either your wife lied , your Hospital was in violation of CDC guidance, or .... youre lying now. Which one is it????
