FAT TAX IS SUPPORTED BY 86% OF T.I.

COULD HELP US WITH SOME OF OUR FATS AS WELL. OR DOES THIS TRAMPLE ON YOUR FREEDOM AND LIBERTY?

So flipping stupid, if people want it, they will buy it. People aren't known for making sound financial decisions.

It ends up being a regressive "tax" on the less fortunate and under educated.

Never will I be in favor of something like this. NEVER. If you can't control how much you eat, that is your problem. Not mine.

But to play devils advocate....If they limit the amount of food I can be served, I would also demand them to limit the price that they could charge me for smaller portions. That way I could just order more for about the same price as I pay now. Sword swings both directions.

I believe in personal accountability, but you sometimes have to help people help themselves. Western Europeans live healthier lifestyles than average Americans already, so maybe they are on to something.

More people die from health issues related to bad eating habits than marijuana, but somehow weed is still illegal in most states. Seems like our priorities are off.

I don't even think you have to be super intelligent to know how to get in shape/ be healthy.
That is, if you're interested in doing it. Can't babysit the country. It ain't brain surgery.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Abs are made in the kitchen, not gym.
If you want to be in shape.... be accountable and watch what you put in your mouth.
Not up to me to watch it for you.

Bars gonna start limiting people to 3 drinks?
Believe it or not some already do. Flying saucer in Columbia limited us to 2 beers per hour. Went there for happy hour after work with coworkers and we had zero drinks beforehand. Ordered 1 beer, finished in about 20 min. Ordered another and it took another 20 min to finish. When we tried to order a 3rd beer we were told we would have to wait until 1 hour had passed since our first one. a few people at our table ordered a high gravity beer. Those count as 2 beers so they were only able to order 1 in an hour.

Now...They may have changed this rule since I was there. It was about 2 years ago. Burn me once on that and I won't go back. They lost about 20 customers that day. We all still joke about that experience and how stupid it was and we will never have happy hour there again.

BUT IT IS. THESE FATS LIVE ON PROCESSED FOODS - THE MAIN INGREDIENTS SUBSIDIZED BY UNCLE SAM. EVEN IF THEY ARENT POORS, AS SOON AS THE FATS TURN 65, ALL THE TREATMENT TO KEEP THEM BREATHING IS PAID FOR BY US.

I REALLY DONT THINK PEOPLE REALIZE HOW MUCH WE THE TAXPAYERS CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE EXISTENCE OF FATS AND THE VERY HIGH COST OF CARING FOR FATS.
JUST TAKE A LOOK AT HOW MANY OBESE CHILDREN THERE ARE.

WE. PAY. FOR. IT.
FAT TAX NEEDS TO HAPPEN.

Most Western Europeans walk more than they drive, which helps a lot. My time Bamberg that was all most folks did was walk to jobs, stores, restaurants. Our country really has an exercise problem, we will drive a block instead of walk the same amount.

Also, fast food is cheaper than healthy food.

If fast food makes you fat then why not just ban all fast food? Same thing for guns. Just ban them. Problem solved. Everyone has a six pack and hugs.

I agree. It’s pretty simple. Burn more calories than you take in. Whether that be eating less or excercising more or some combination of the two. This has worked for me every single time without exception.

I used to travel for work and ran into this a couple of times. The last time was (2010 maybe?) in a Canadian casino & there's no better way to ensure a rowdy evening than to tell a bunch of musicians that there is a cap on what they're allowed to drink.

AGAIN, I DONT GIVE A SHIT IF YOU ARE UNHEALTHY. WHAT I DO CARE ABOUT IS THE LARGE AMT OF MY TAX DOLLARS THAT PAY TO KEEP FATS ALIVE. OH, AND THE SUBSIDIZED RAW MATERIALS FOR MANY SHIT FOODS.

PEOPLE LOVE TO HARP ON THE WELFARE QUEENS BUT ARE OK WITH THIS. MAKES NO SENSE TO ME.

Im all for the Government enforcing more. Like telling me what to eat. Sounds great!

YEP JUST MORE OF OUR MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN.

LISTEN ITS VERY CLEAR TO ME THAT YOU CANT CHANGE THE LEGION OF FATS BY BEING NICE AND ALLOWING THEM TO EXPAND. THIS HAS TO STOP.

you all arent taking @TAINT_PAINT seriously, but he is spot on.

We are paying for the fats already. They are driving your insurance rates up. Diseases related to obesity are taking up hospital space.

I dont think i'd be ok with that particular idea, but restaurants should have to put nutritional information on their menus (and not in some dumb pamphlet that you have to ask for, it should be ON THE MENU). That McDonalds breakfast you want to eat? Yea, its your entire recommended daily intake of salt, calories, fat, and sugar. That should be made clear so that we can all make intelligent decisions.

I was always amazed in my time in Germany & Denmark at how much people rode their bikes and walked. My cousin lives in a suburb outside of Copenhagen but works in the city. He rides his bike back and forth to work every day even though he has a car. It’s just part of their lifestyles.

If im being honest with you, this is America where you have the right to be fat and im not fat, but if you want to you can be. We pay for it yes, but we'll pay for it in some other form as soon as the Government starts telling you what to eat.

I don't care what the UK does.. seriously, it doesn't matter to me what that country does. The best answer to any of these type questions is, if you love they way someone else does it, move there.

Everyone complaining but nobody moving... Hell, we were promised that half of Hollywood was leaving. Im still waiting on that.

Believe me. We all know he is dead serious.

I live in New York and just order 2 large mountain dews, since I can’t order a big gulp.

you live in New York? Surely somewhere upstate? I've spent a lot of my life in Elmira, Schroon Lake, and Long Island, so I know the state really well. where you at?

THIS IS AN INTERESTING TAKE. SO IF I DONT WANT TO WORK. YOU ARE OK WITH ME DRAWING WELFARE, FOOD STAMPS, AND UNLIMITED HEALTHCARE? BASED ON YOUR LOGIC, THIS IS MY RIGHT AS AN AMERICAN- TO BE LAZY BECAUSE THE ACTUAL TAX PAYERS WILL TAKE CARE OF ME.

GOOD TO KNOW.
