First off is was probably one of the hottest games I have ever attended. The only other game I can remember being that hot was the Georgia game in 2003 The kickoff was at 2:30 so that is like a 12:00 noon game for them. We went with 2 other couples and where tailgating before 10:00. We have lived in Lafayette, La for about 6 years and for whatever reason our Clemson and personal schedule have never worked out for us to make it to a game.

I was really excited to experience the tailgating scene. From what I heard and lead to believe, I had expectations of going to the mecca of tailgating. We parked in a reserve lot not far from the stadium. First thing I noticed was there were not many people actually tailgating at their cars. There were very few tents and few people just tailgating at their cars. I guess it is an SEC thing that you put your tents up around campus and have big tailgates. On Friday mornings you can claim you area for tailgating around campus. I don't know if it was my high expectations, but I left the experience underwhelmed.

Heard a lot of horror stories about LSU fans being rough on visiting fans. One our friends was wearing his Auburn colors and I never heard anything said to him, not even the normal tiger bait chant. Maybe it was because he was surrounded by LSU fans or people at least wearing purple.

They have recently updated and expanded the stadium in the end zone like we did with our west end zone. I was surprised at how few Auburn fans made the trip. Due to the game being a blowout and never really close at all, the crowd never got into the game. I was impressed with LSU defense and Fournette. Fournette is the real deal!
