Trey Gowdy is one if the best congressmen to ever serve. He was my congressman. I had a problem with the IRS once and was getting no where with them. I called Gowdy's office and my problem was taken care of the next day. He was exactly what a representative was supposed to be. I would love to see him on the Supreme Court. Loved watching him rip morons apart in congressional hearings.

Trey Gowdy spent 2 years , 7 million dollars, and 800 page report of the Benghazi investigation and failed so miserably that he resigned.

It’s well known that Trey failed miserably in leading the Benghazi investigation.
Don’t get mad at me about it. Get mad at Trey about it. The Committee led one of the longest Congressional investigations in history: longer than 09/11 terrorist attacks; the assassination of President JFK; the attack on Pearl Harbor; and the response to Katrina. There were already 8 prior investigations into Benghazi and Trey’s investigation found nothing to contradict the conclusions of any of the other reports.
Ultimately he was unable to find any new evidence to conclude that HRC was responsible in the four deaths. If I am wrong I challenge you to find the passage in the report that concludes she was culpable.
This is coming from someone who really dislikes the Clintons and who has been vocal about it.

How did his conclusion differ from any of the 7 prior investigations? Other than adding some additional context and granularity , how did the conclusions fundamentally differ from all the others ?
There were some new insights which were previously unknown to the American people , including one that didn’t help Trey’s cause. What I’m referring to is the part detailing Obama’s actions as soon as he was briefed on the situation on the ground : “he gave very clear directions: do everything possible to save Americans and to use all of the resources at our disposal to do so”. The problem was that there were no forces easily positioned to do so, and it is reasonable to ask whether there was wishful thinking involved in determining how secure the situation in Libya was.
Libya went to shit after the overthrow of Muammar Qaddafi, which the United States supported and contributed to. Clinton was key in our military role in Libya’s revolution, which I did not agree with at the time and never have. So it ticks me off that we were meddling in there to begin with , which would mean that Benghazi wouldn’t have happened. That can be a separate topic of debate.
Some of you are so partisan that you can’t even get past political party before diving into details of key issues.

He was tired of serving and realizing that people like you are so partisan that he could not get anything meaningful done in Washington. And unlike most career politicians, he unselfishly stepped away. But again, you are too blind by your partisan bias to see that. He could have continued to run and easily win. If you can’t see that then you are naive and frankly blind.

I know Trey personally and you're exactly right with this being the main reason Trey didn't run for Congress again. I have heard him say this numerous times and for those that don't believe the swamp is real in Washington, talk to Trey or someone who has been there and seen it first hand.
And not with many uses as even buzzards have trouble with roadkill Armadillos

I think his district was also 're zoned' (or whatever they call it) out of existence. He chose not to run again.
