Can someone please explain this way of thinking to me. I just don’t follow. Are we not testing to prevent spread? If you are vaccinated and get Covid, can you not spread the disease to others when you are not symptomatic? What am I missing here? I’ve seen way too many seemingly intelligent people take this stance for there not to be a reason. I am genuinely curious. Please avoid the smart ass answer…

Not really sure what you’re asking. I don’t think anyone should be tested that doesn’t have symptoms. If the vaccine does what it’s supposed to do, why do we really care if we test positive?

And does anyone think those that test positive are really quarantining? The testing process doesn’t make any sense anyway. I have to get tested at work periodically. I go in the morning to get tested, then go to work after. Later that day I get the results. If I happen to test positive, I’ve already been in contact with 30 people at work waiting for the results. The only reason to test asymptomatic people is to drive down the % positive and make everyone feel better.

I’m not staying home. I got the vaccine that everyone said was effective. I’m living my life, it’s too short to spend locked up waiting on the government to tell me when it’s safe. 2 years now they’ve tried to control people over this.

So even if you were told you were positive and contagious you would go out knowing full well what the risks were?

What risks? I have the vaccine and everyone else has the ability to get it as well. I was told it works and have also been told to trust the science. I don’t wear a mask unless it’s required because I have the vaccine and, if it works, I don’t need a mask.

I got to the gym, grocery store, restaurants, etc. I’m done being told by politicians what I can do when they do whatever they want. I couldn’t tell you what the statistics are on the virus or where the hot spots are. I don’t even know the names of the variants. Unless everyone stays home permanently, the virus is going to spread. If that scares you, feel free to stay home and worry about it. Everyone should be free to make their own decisions without restrictions unnecessarily placed on us by the government.

The Coronavirus has been around as long as mankind. It will be around likely longer than mankind. We've all have it at some point in our life. The virus changes. It's what virus' do to survive.

The COVID-19 strain of coronavirus sucked and hurt a lot of people.

Time for folks to realize than new strains of the coronavirus aren't the same as the COVID-19 version. Just because its a variant doesn't mean its as bad a COVID-19.

Do we test people for the flu weekly? Do we MANDATE flu vaccines?

But hey, fear evidently sells. So the media and politicians wanting to distract you from real issue will keep beating their drums to instill fear.

I will just chime in with this. We all are tired of talking about this crap and I have genuinely tired to look at this from both sides. I believe the whole point of @CoffeeIsForClosers is that your are being reckless by not getting vaccinated because if you are vaccinated then you are less likely to contract the virus, therefore less likely to spread it.
example: I cannot spread X if I don't have X to spread.
I think I am right by saying that. (in my best Plyler voice)

I do think that the 10 day quarantine needs to be revised. This new variant has a shorter incubation period, so they should shorten the quarantine time or let people test out of the quarantine. That goes for athletes or kids in school.

That said... people who have tested positive and still go out and knowingly infect others are human trash who will occupy a special place in hell. We know some people here who did that. Big Trumpers, anti maskers. Their teenage kid got it and they still took a trip to Cancun b/c they didnt want to cancel it. After months of claiming masks didnt work they said "It was fine b/c he wore a mask." We dont talk to them anymore.
