I read through the thread on the Notre Dame main forum labeled "fire him now"
Across the last three seasons 28 teams have lost games as double digit favorites. Marcus Freeman owns three of those.
There were a few uniformed fans saying they couldn't compete with the high academic standards. They must have missed on Notre Dame just being outbid for 5* talent and missed the curriculum that includes African American Studies.
The schedule this year for the Damsels is exceeding favorable and easy (9 home games and 3 away!). They have two ranked teams (as of now) on the schedule - Louisville (home) and Southern Cal (away).
The next game is Purdue - an in-state rivalry game for them (some boosters were calling Northern Illinois a trap game). If the Damsels lose to Purdue, their best move would be to terminate Freeman immediately and get a head start on hiring their next head coach.
Notre Dame has been a competitor on the recruiting trail - particularly with offensive lineman. Any setback for their recruiting is welcome.
