1. Great job by the fans. Clemson was rocking for Game day, and Death Valley was rocking for the game. I couldn't have been more proud of the way everyone showed up for this game in that weather. I hope everyone made it home safe.
2. A win is win, be it ugly or a blow out, but we got lucky to win this game. We are not a playoff team currently and most likely will not be unless our offensive play calling improves.
3. Our defensive starting 11 are as good as any in the country. Our lack of depth and rotating players this year will not only cost a game, it's going to kill us next year with lack of experience as well. Eight more straight games of playing only the starters and they will be warn out by year end.
Everyone knows our D was very tired at game end. Thank god we made the stop at the end because we had nothing left for overtime.
Also, very lucky to be playing a Freshman QB. ND had receivers running wide open all night that he did not see. Some of that was pressure not allowing time to get through progressions, but a lot was his lack of experience.
4. Right now we are 5-0 with the TE and Jeff Scott experiment, but everyone can see we are not headed in the right direction. TE's play calling appears that he has to make the correct call on every play. He is scared to lose.
When we came out aggressive in the first quarter our offensive was rolling. DW was on time with his throws and commanded the offense. How Elliot doesn't see that you need to keep attacking I don't know. I have some serious questions now about TE and Jeff Scott.
Conditions were tough, but ND threw for over 300 yards. We have more talent ND on offense. How can you run the ball with no passing threat. The fact we almost ran for 200 yards is amazing considering we abandoned the pass.
5. Peake needs to be benched. He has disappeared and can only catch uncontested passes. He doesn't high point the ball or fight for it.
6. Players of the game Boulware, Lakkip, Dodd, Lawson. Dodd stopped that 2 pt conversion by setting the edge and turning the play back to our Line and LB's. Saved the game.
Also, Alexander shut down Fuller pretty much all night. Great job by him.
7. I think we are a 10-2 team right now. We are going to have a game where we have to outscore a team 38 - 35 and I'm not sure we can do it right now with our offensive play calling. maybe I'm being to harsh given the weather, but I don't see an undefeated regular season.
