my memory isn’t great, but I feel like we got VT because Virginia politicians inisited they be invited for UVA to vote yes ……. When Miami, BC and VT came in ….. ( remember our boy swofford wanted to add Miami, BC and Cuse……. No wonder we are fvcked)

my point is about UNC/NC State…… not even sure what can be done politically, but I’m confident if UNC gets an opportunity in the SEC/B1G and NC State is left without anywhere to go ……. they will attempt to get involved

Agreed. But DT probably wouldn’t take it too well if Republicans determine Desantis is more electable. I could see him sabotaging the whole thing when the door is wide open by taking his diehards and either running as an independent or starting a new party.

The pols have a poor record dealing with sports issues…NIL, building stadiums and tax packages for professional teams, etc. In this situation, I can understand Newsom’s view. I can not imagine Clemson changing athletic conferences without informing the Board of Trustees, much less without it’s approval.

You are 100% correct. The “America First” is really Trump First and America can come along with me. If RDS gains national steam and looks to be the best and most electable conservative I have confidence DT will ruin it with a party split. Everyone will suffer as a result.

Well selfishly I am hoping he is just blowing smoke. He’s suggesting the move impacts all schools in California, including the Cal State system (heck, UCLA leaving might enable San Diego St to enter the PAC). I think he went to Cal so he might just be jealous.

I would be really surprised if the UCLA chancellor could have single-handedly approved this conference switch without any notification to the UC President or Board of Regents. But maybe he did.
